Ben 10 5YL
Added 2025-09-21 16:11:46 +0000 UTCI want to hear from YOU, the community! We’ve only got 4 episodes left of Ben 10: Omniverse, and once that’s done… that’s it for Ben 10 unless we dive into the fan project series 5 Years Later.
From what I’ve seen, it takes more of a comic book slideshow approach (and of course, since it’s a fan project, we can’t expect TV level animation).
So here’s my question to the Ben 10 fans here 👉 Would you want me to react to 5 Years Later right away, or would you rather I stick to the other shows first? Be honest. Thank you!

Thanks for the info, dude. The one thing that might keep me from this is the Danny Phantom spoilers. Looks like DP only has 53 episodes. Maybe I'll react to that before 5YL.

Although 5YL is a fan-made motion comic, a lot of time and love was put into it. Yes, the animation isn't TV quality, but a ton of care was put into the voice acting and sound design. Plus, although non-canon, it doesn't feel like fanservice. It feels like a genuine continuation of both series. At least that's how I feel. 2. I'm hoping that watching this will get you hyped for Danny Phantom, like how watching the crossover got you hyped for Generator Rex. True, you won't get all of the references, but 5YL explains enough about both series that even people who have never seen both can follow along. 3. Although 5YL does capture the spirits of both shows, since both main characters are adults now, the themes are more mature without being gratuitous. Which I know you will appreciate. Cons: 1. The series is still ongoing. As I'm writing this, only 11 episodes have been released. Ink Tank said in a vlog not too long ago that episode 12 is mostly finished and will likely release later this year. However, episodes 13 and 14, the final episodes, are being worked on simultaneously with the intension of being released at the same time. So, there's no telling how long it will take, and the chance of blue balls is high. 2. The first episode of 5YL spoils the final episode of Danny Phantom. So, if you watch 5YL and then watch Danny Phantom, you'll be going into a series knowing how it will end. Personally, I'm not the kind of person who cares all that much about spoilers, but I also know some people take them very seriously. 3. Pretty much all of Ben's aliens receive redesigns. Some are minor, some are more extreme. Some look great, others not so much. Ultimately, it's subjective. Just thought you should have a heads up.
