I think he might be actually dead. I think Coyote could see the future and since it's just a memory, he reacted to how he knew Antimony would act. Maybe his final meeting will be Annie taking him over to the other side

I forgot that neither Annie was native to the timeline. I thought one of them was and one wasn't. Kat's look is understandable. "Where's *my* Annie?"
With the deeper question of whether the comic is currently taking place in an alternate dimension.
The fact that Loup hasn't acknowledged Coyote's tooth has always stayed in the back of my mind. I wonder if it means we will see coyote return, say by carving the red patch off Loup's back (but Tom would never be that straightforward about it)
Regardless, I can see coyote treating his death the same way he treated being an ant or a dead goose. As a tourist. Sure he wants to see what being dead is like but it doesn't mean he wants to live there.
