Status Update

There's nothing substantial to report but we like to keep you up to date. It's the least we can do as a thank you for your continued support.

While I (John514) am away doing my country's mandatory military service (I will be back in July), there's not much progress being done to the PTB. I'm trying to keep up with new CSP features and I'm writing down ideas that I come up with but I don't have access to a computer or free time so all I can do is help on Discord when I can.
However, the rest of the team is busy with stuff that will ultimately benefit the SRP project.

Soyo has been practicing creating car mods and while it's not part of the project, it's a useful skill to have.

Most importantly, we have been trying to nurture a new development team to help us with the track itself. These junior devs have currently been let loose on the most requested area of the Shutoko system: Daikoku. It's a must have area and we've always said it will be added eventually. In fact we're going one step further and we're building not just the parking area but the entire island on which it is situated, since it is a popular drifting spot in real life too. While we try to let these junior devs experiment and practice on their own, we will make sure the new area has the quality you are used to from us.

Daikoku FAQ:

Q: When is it coming?
A: No idea. Whenever it's ready.

Q: There's already a Daikoku mod by Soyo, why not just combine this with SRP?
A: That track is a port from a mobile game. It's inaccurate and will not fit SRP.

Q: Will be able to spawn in the PA when it's ready?
A: Yes, as with most PAs, it'll be a spawn place.

There's been some other changes too:

• On Discord, we have removed the complicated verification method of AltDentifier and we're now only using Discord's built-in system of phone number verification instead. We had received complaints about the trouble of going through AltDentifier and indeed the amount of support tickets we received by people who couldn't verify was overwhelming. Having to deal with the occasional alt account is much easier for us.

• Another thing we're looking into is getting a website going so that people who don't want to use Discord can access the mod. It's been long overdue but we've finally began planning for it.

This will likely be the last bit of news for a month or two again until we have something to show. Thanks for sticking with us.
