October newsletter - feather progress
Added 2024-11-01 03:29:20 +0000 UTCHiiii all you fine folks on Patreon! Happy end-of-October! And that means...it's...time...for...a newsletter :3
The first article, written by Lathreas, Tiltwolf, and myself reports on some steady progress in the integument review project about feathers. Feathers are...complicated. Complicated shapes, generation processes, arrangement of structural proteins, and all the ways that birds use to create all the vibrant (and not-so-vibrant!) colors they're known for. We've waded through a lot and are close to being able to publish the feather characterization/description chapter. (And if I may, learning about their coloration mechanisms in particular has been a blast).
The second article introduces you to Chronolatry a.k.a. Lev, on our moderation and social media teams, in an interview led by SvarOS! Some seriously beautiful art in here too. Lev is an amazing artist.
Thank you as always for helping support us and being part of our movement. And, enjoy the newsletter!
