It was a fairly standard week for progress. I had a few minor technical issues that caused some small delays, but altogether, I barely lost half a day trying to fix things, so it wasn't a big deal. Also, I changed the "Scene" text on the report image to "Section". It's not terribly important, but it makes things easier for me to explain things going forward.
I've been working my way through one of the scenes in section 8, and I think it's at least 70% complete. It's currently sitting at 62 renders and 3 animations. I estimate 5-6 more animations before it's done, and maybe another 20 renders. The last scene in section 8 will probably have a somewhat equal amount of animations in total, but I have no estimate on renders yet.
Truthfully, mapping things out in my head, I doubt I'll be reaching my initial goals set last week, but I'm certainly going to keep trying. Besides, I have some ideas that might save me a bit more time, but I'll keep those holstered for the moment.
I hope you all have another great week! Much love! JB
Like many others back home, Ariana misses you. She knows you probably won't be away for much longer, but she can't help but sit up at night worrying.
Hey all,
This is the final post in the 'Chapter 5 Check-In' series for the time being and I should have them all organized into a collection before long. I have some other ideas for content to replace it, and I'll start rolling that out before long.
For now, I hope you enjoyed the series, and I'm working hard to ensure we can get back there before any of us feel the need to do another round of check-ins.
With the new year often comes new perspective, and this past week, I have definitely been reflecting on some things. I won't lie, I was spiraling a little this past month week, but after some careful reflection, I think I've finally started leveling out a little.
Between a few off-hand comments from some other devs and my own growing disappointment in my painfully slow development process, I've decided that I need to change some things going forward! Primarily, instead of the "slow and steady" mentality I've been trying for the last 4+ years, I'm going to start setting specific deadlines for tasks on my calendar and holding myself to them.
Going forward my goals are simple for this next release: -First, all renders and animations for this release need to be finished by the end of the month! Sooner, if possible. -Second, all the coding/testing/audio needs to be complete by mid-February! -Finally, if I can keep on schedule, the release should be out mid-to-late Feb
I've also made another pass through the unfinished content and trimmed any remaining fat that I could. I've managed to cut S7 down once again and believe that I can wrap up the entire scene in about 30 renders. They're extremely, painfully slow to set up but I think I can still slog my way through it in time. However, I'll be saving this for last, just in case. It could be cut if required, though I would rather keep it if possible.
Quickly, with regards to S8, I've mentioned how it's split into 5 sections. Currently, three of those sections are complete and the remaining two are about 50% complete. I also trimmed some content here as well, but all things considered, it made a lot of sense to cut this content given the context of the scenes.
Anyway, I'm genuinely sorry that I'm so slow! I hate taking so long to release content, my brain is just broken sometimes. Believe me, losing all the support I gained from an update within 3 months and then limping my way to the next release is neither mentally, nor financially viable, and it's been slowly becoming a big problem for me.
I'm sorry for the long report, but I think most of it was important. Much love! JB
I don't know why, but I'm really happy with these renders, or perhaps I just enjoy working with Marigold. Either way, these renders took longer than they should have, so I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do!
As an apology for missing the usual New Year post due to internet traffic blocking my asset downloads, I've made a small series of Olivia relaxing in front of a warm fire.
The SFW versions are available in both HD and 4K in the original and silver-tier copies of this post.

I'm sorry for the small report this week, but like many of you, I took some time off this week to relax and even had a surprise visit with some family from out of town. I still worked for a few days at a fairly relaxed pace, but otherwise I just tried to recharge my batteries. I'm back to work this week, however, and thankfully, the time off has me feeling reinvigorated and ready to jump back into finishing this update.
Have yourselves a safe and fun New Year! Much love! JB
This might be the last check-in poll as these are the last two ladies we need to check on. I may eventually do another round of polls to expand on everyone's previous posts, but I think I'd rather do something new, at least for a while. Besides, I have some fun ideas for posts that I plan to start rolling out in the new year.
So, for now, we have our last two ladies, Ariana and Marigold. Whoever doesn't win will still have their check-in post, but it will roll out at a later date. The poll ends Wednesday night, with the actual post being in the latter half of the week.
I hope you're all having a great week! See you tomorrow for the report! Much love! JB
It's been a fairly balanced week for progress with the numbers rising slightly all across the board, but if I'm being honest, I found it very tough to work this week. I wish I could blame anything other then myself, but I just haven't been in a good head-space for a couple of weeks now and I guess I needed to take some time off to try to clear my head. None of that matters for this report however, so I'll get to the actual progress now.
I want to try reworking the progress report in the near future because I've sat here for the last 30 minutes trying to explain what I've done, but when I read it back, it makes no damn sense. Like I said, weird head-space this week. To keep things simple for all of our sakes (hopefully): Of the 5 sections that S8 is loosely broken into, 1 is finished, 2 is around 85% finished, 3 is about 75%, 4 is 40%, and 5 is 25%. Of those, 1 and 2 are the longest sections, and 3 is the shortest. Trust me, that makes more sense than my first 5 attempts and it's a paragraph shorter. I may have to update the progress report in the near future to help me make this all a little easier to explain, and thus easier for you all to understand my gibberish.
For any of you celebrating over the holiday, I wish you all the most wonderful and happiest week. I hope you get to see your families and enjoy all the delicious foods! To the rest of us, I pray for you to enjoy the cosiest of holiday breaks, with the freshest and fastest food deliveries!
I really enjoyed Miranda's tent scene, but I forgot how long it took to render in this tent, so I'll have to figure that out if I ever plan to revisit this scene.
As you can see from the numbers, it's been a relatively good week. I finished 5 new animations, even though a couple were only alternate versions of existing ones. I only got around to making a handful of renders, but I was able to finish scripting one of the main portions for a particular scene, and now I just need to copy/paste/rewrite it for the other 4+ routes it has.
You know how it goes... Fem/variety versions, then looker/toucher versions for each of those, then other various kinks/more vanilla versions of those, then messy/messier versions for all of the above, etc... Honestly, it was probably a big mistake to offer so many options, but this was my first project, and I was extremely overly ambitious. My ADHD brain hates me for making it write and rewrite scenes over and over, only slightly different each time, but oh well, you live, and you learn. Either way, I'm still very proud of my game, no matter how repetitive it can feel at times.
Also, I apologize that I missed a sub post last week, but the renders I was working on took ages to finish. Thankfully, they finished late last night, so I'll be making 3 sub posts this week to make up for it. And let me tell you, Gold-Tier Miranda fans will be eating well in a day or two when I post those renders.
I've been working with them a lot this chapter, but they still haven't been seen since the last update, so I wanted to get a quick post of our girls out today. It's nothing special, but the three of them deserve the same attention as anyone else.
The numbers this week may be on the lower end, but I promise it was for good reasons. As you probably know, most of my animations are 1- to 2-second loops, with the longest being just shy of 3, if I recall correctly. This week I made my first 5-second-long looping animation. I made a few errors and had to reshoot a third of it, so it took me about half the week to finish just that one animation. Thankfully, I'm quite proud of it, so I hope you'll all enjoy it.
I spent a lot of that rendering downtime catching up on sections of the script that I've rushed through recently, and rewrote all my notes with actual script and code. I haven't caught all the way up yet, but I'm not far off. Only one more good scripting day should catch me all the way up and then some.
Not much else to say today, so I'll cut it off here. I hope you have a good week, homies! Much love! JB
I nearly forgot that I promised a gold-tier post this week, and since I enjoyed seeing Sheila in this setting for the silver-tier check-in post, I decided to extend it into a sexy gold-tier for everyone as well.
Another gorgeous beauty stares longingly into the night, praying for your safe return. You had better not disappoint her.
Hey all,
I wasn't expecting Sheila to win this poll, but after combining the votes from both Patreon and Substar, Sheila pulled ahead by only 2 votes! I'm not complaining, but it's not always this close of a race for the win.
A non-canon gold-tier extension post for this scene with Variety Versions will be out shortly, and I'll link it here when it is. >> CLICK HERE <<
I hope you enjoy the small Sheila post. Much love! JB
I need to double-check, but these may be the last 3 people to check in on before we have to start looping back around for extended check-ins. Alternatively, I throw up some polls for some other things I have lined up. But for now...
Who should we check with this week?
The poll ends Saturday night, and the renders will be up Sunday. Much love! JB
It was a good week! I finished 3 more animations with another one in the final testing stages, and nearly doubled the renders from the week before. Not that it was a lot to begin with, but I'll never complain about improvement. I've been keeping a good pace, but, as usual, the animations often take a while to test and troubleshoot before the final lengthy render, so it's an unavoidable bottleneck. Not that I'm complaining. I genuinely love animating. Just sayin'...
Unfortunately, it was another week where I barely touched the script. It's not really a big deal since scripting a scene can be done in a fraction of the time as the visuals. Still, I like to be honest with these reports even when I drop the ball somewhere. I have no doubt that the inspiration will hit again soon, and I'll catch up with the renders in no time.
Since I posted 2 silver-tiers this past week, I'll be sure to post a poll of some kind and a saucy Gold-tier to make it up to those tiers this coming week.
I know that I already released a teaser early this month, but since I missed posting one in October, and I'm not inspired to make any random pin-ups at the moment, you're getting another one!
For those who don't know, I'll be hiding the renders below all this text.
I'm sorry if it's annoying.
It's to give people who don't want spoilers a chance to avoid seeing them accidentally.
I'm happy to report that, on top of the renders and scripting, I was able to finish 3 animations this past week, and I have one more nearly ready to go. I have a few more lined up, but I'm still trying to decide just how much content I want to attempt to cram into this update. Most would say the more the merrier, but I'm still trying to get this update out in a fraction of the time from the previous, and it's already starting to get way denser than I originally anticipated. Most don't mind having more content when all is said and done, but 'slow and steady' isn't exactly the most sustainable strategy at the moment.
Scripting was admittedly a little tougher to dive into this week. I had an appointment that took me out for a day and a half, but even before that, I just couldn't fall into my usual writing rhythm. Still, I kept up with my renders and animations by getting the point-form/vibes of each render written down. Thankfully, that, mixed with the already finished renders, will make the actual writing a million times easier once I inevitably fall back into it.
I hope subscribers enjoyed checking in with our lovable ball of nerves, Sabrina, this past week, because it might be a little while before we do any more Check-in renders with our friends and family back in Castlecross. There's only a handful of them left before I have to start repeating people and extending their already existing check-in posts, so I need to pace the remainder out a little more. I'm still not sure what this week's posts will be, but I have some ideas, so keep your eyes peeled.
Why the hell can I type such a long report, but my mind couldn't settle the hell down while I was trying to script all week? Ugh...
Anyway, I hope you all have another great week! Much love! JB
There have been a few unexpected hiccups this week that have delayed some progress. Mainly, a couple of assets I was relying on to continue certain scenes haven't been working for some inexplicable reason. It's not worth detailing here and stretching out the report, but I've spent a fair amount of time trying to fix the issues and subsequently rewriting sections altogether where necessary.
I wish that I had more to report, but these stupid problems have been eating up a lot of my time and patience. I'll make this report short and sweet to save everyone some time.
I hope you all have another great week, and if you can, spare a prayer for my indie dev woes. Much love! JB
Bringing Sara to view the barracks, Cordelia happily humors her desire to see exactly what Cordi does for work.
Hey Homies,
I've had this little surprise duo planned since the beginning of these polls, but I didn't want to spoil it in all the polls. One of the reasons I took Cordi off the poll in the first place was because I really wanted to make these renders, and I was tired of waiting.
This may be a simple poll, but more than any other Player Choice Poll so far, this one will help me tremendously in gathering some important player demographic information. This could also influence the type of content I lean towards moving forward. At least, in some minor ways.
Do you play/prefer the Straight version or the Variety version of the game?
As with all of these polls, I'm anxious to see the result. Much love! JB
