Traffic

In the 24 hours following my reddit post, you added nearly 15 thousand summoner names to all queues. I believe it's the most traffic we've ever seen in a short period of time. During the initial burst of traffic on January 3rd, I was also monitoring front-facing web server utilizations. Although we did see moments of high incoming web traffic, the website did not crash and there was no need for me to add additional servers to handle the traffic. (Costs have been saved!) This test of demand makes me more confident in the website's traffic capacity and I probably won't need to monitor that very closely in the future.

Queues

Queue processing has gone pretty smoothly, with very low errors and only short term interruptions for planned maintenance reasons. We have processed 17 thousand profiles globally, so far. I have been monitoring queue lengths for NA and EUW, and up until 2 days ago, the queue lengths have been decreasing steadily. Based on recent survey submissions (thank you for them), the time spent in queue seems to be a pain point for a lot of people. If the NA/EUW queues remain lengthy or even grow within the coming days, I will explore ways to make the queue go faster. For those that are unaware, the process of downloading the match data for each summoner is what makes up a significant amount of processing time. It is not a result of a lack of available server/computing power.

To Patrons, please feel free to continue to ask for queue expediting. To all others, I am aware of the long queue times and thank you for your patience.
