I changed some things. What do you think?

Shortly after I posted the first part of the pit, I decided that I hated the colors. And, when you're planning to draw another twenty or so maps with those colors, that's a problem. So I made some adjustments and partially recolored the underground levels. I think the colors for the surface were basically fine and, besides, the rest is going to be underground.

Here's a side-by-side comparison. What do you think?

I'm a little color blind, so find it hard to see the difference here. In general I have to lighten up maps before printing them, so having less dark is good. But they both look awesome, as all of your creations do! I'm thinking of ways I can use this in my Eberron campaign!

i second this!

I think both are fine. The new version feels a bit more ominous, which is fitting. Gradually darkening the layers as they go deeper would be cool, but then they wouldn't be interchangeable anymore. Just stick to the new colors, they are fine.

Beautiful! I liked the original but this one is better.

Oooh yea I mean if beggars are being choosy then having it get slowly more dark and foreboding looking would be awesome.

I've thought about doing something like that and I'm not sure exactly how I'd go about it, but I'll see if I can work that in somehow.

Well, at least I didn't make it worse, haha.

I like the new coloring better, but I didn't think the original looked bad.

The idea of strati and veins is pretty awesome

I like it, Milby, but I liked before too. I think it would be cool to vary the color slowly as you go deeper. It could go through several strati or even have veins of different rock, particularly in the mining levels. Just some thoughts.
