The Chronomancer's Tower (Work-in-Progress)
Added 2022-09-07 22:05:09 +0000 UTCHere are the drawings for the next map. While I was looking at various clock towers for inspiration, I discovered the Prague Orloj, which is an astronomical clock. It was too cool to not include it in the map, so I drew it in. It's based on a geocentric model, but I think we can let that go, since it was made in the early 1400s and telescopes were still two centuries away.
Anyway, I'm gonna go color this thing. Hope you like it so far!

People are allowed to resubmit proposals to the Cartographic Congress, so sometimes they appear on the ballot again. A few times, I've drawn maps based on proposals that didn't win, but which I thought were really good (in addition to the map that did win, of course). Also, the 50th Cartographic Congress is coming up soon (the last one was the 48th). I think I'm going to put together a ballot full of past proposals that I thought were the most interesting, but didn't win. So yeah, sometimes proposals do make a comeback.
