Most people think Patchy is dumb. Herself included.

Now, I'm not gonna say she's smart but that is a simplification.

She notices and processes things very quickly and can retain all sort of information when she actually cares about a subject. I once called a Red Vine a Twizzler and you would not believe the lecture I got.

But she's not a deep thinker. She does not think days or even hours ahead sometimes. Corporate talk, small talk, repetition and drawn out diplomacy bore her and she finds herself going for the simplest solution that allows her to move on to something else. It's odd to call her lazy given the work she's done for me but 'intellectually lazy' is the best summary I think I have.

She can learn, though. She can be taught. When she doesn't just shank someone. When she doesn't just eliminate those who are inconvenient in an exact instance, when she does what I ask - I reward her.

I think, over time, she'll get it.
