I think they really were isolated. I can't speak to what other agencies or teams from smaller companies did to get more access, but from what BTS shared in Beyond the Story, from the beginning they had experiences of being snubbed by other Idols at broadcasting shows and some of them even left shows crying because of how they were treated. That, on top of not having seniors within their company to make introductions or in general be there as a shield may have contributed to this as well.
