Good point. I just hope you understand that there is difference between how I hope the world is and how it actually is. There are so many discrepancies, it is actually sad. I have a tendency to accept reality as what it is. I know and feel it is wrong but try to understand the mechanics of that reality. In the early stages of BTS, if they totally looked average, could they have made it? We will never know that answer. There are so many variables. What if it took a little bit longer and Big Hit didn't have enough funds to sustain the team? What if early Army was not as mature or have positive enough view on beauty standards? And how much the world would have lost out if they vanished in the early stages. I wish and dream for a world that probably is very similar to you but I might have lost that hopefulness somewhat. Business world in particular is harsh, cold and competitive. General public is often not well informed or logical. Somewhat similar to how Nietzsche saw the masses. For example, as a scientist, it horrified me still to have witnessed how public reacted to pandemic, where fact and science were pushed aside for irrational "Believes". Please don't get me wrong. I am not defending any and all unhealthy practices. All I am saying is that 'I' accept the fact that certain look has better probability of success than others due to nature of the market. It is sad but in order to succeed, so many of us sacrifice ourselves to get that 'little bit more of that probability' that will help us. It seems to be same in academics, business, entertainment etc. I still dislike it but I accept that you might get a better chance to get ahead of the competition or survive. It boils down to the age old conundrum. Even if we know the right and wrong, that just isn't how the world works sometimes.

Maybe it's your question at around 41:05 that made me feel that we aren't on the same page...since the pressure is to be underweight which isn't what I think of when I think of "fit"...I would rather watch a group of "average" looking people than underweight. There are many times when I see Jimin looking underweight, and members of other groups as well and I just feel bad. I feel bad and worried for them and it's quite distracting. Fit is not super skinny in my mind and that seems to be the trend right. I was re-watching the kdrama Witch's Romance this week, and the lead actress is of a healthy weight, but with how things are rn I think she would be considered "heavy". There are cultures that see a more average or little overweight body with curves and muscles as "fit" and healthy. So maybe we're talking about the same thing or maybe we're not...definitions change depending where someone is, but it was your question I was responding to I guess.
