Decided to listen to your podcast and found an episode where you discuss Harry Potter theories and you said you both already watched all the movies. Why are you saying on YouTube you've never watched them then?

Katie

Great reaction guys, I was also reminded of GTA: San Andreas too, you know with the flying cars cheats, oh man good times, looking forward to more reactions from you

Epic Legend

Great reaction guys! I'm really enjoying your lengthy discussions after the movies. Not sure how far into the first book you are but in the books the Ravenclaw house is actually represented by an eagle and the house colours are blue and bronze but in the movies they changed it to a raven and replaced bronze with silver. These are the reasons that Ravenclaw house is represented by an eagle and the house colour is bronze: Each of the four houses symbolises one of the four elements. Gryffindor symbolises fire, Ravenclaw symbolises air, Hufflepuff symbolises earth and Slytherin symbolises water. This is reflected in the locations of their common rooms, with Slytherin being under the lake, Hufflepuff being below ground, Gryffindor being high up in a warm and cosy space with a fire always burning, and Ravenclaw in the highest, airiest tower. Gryffindor (red and gold) is connected to fire; Slytherin (green and silver) to water; Hufflepuff (yellow and black, representing wheat and soil) to earth; and Ravenclaw (blue and bronze; sky and eagle feathers) to air. Eagles have been associated with intelligence and wisdom in many cultures throughout history. The eagle symbolizes the pursuit of knowledge and the importance of using one’s intelligence to solve problems and make wise decisions. Their ability to soar high in the sky and see things from a different perspective is seen as a metaphor for gaining knowledge and understanding. The eagle symbol therefore highlights Ravenclaw values of wit, learning, and wisdom. On the Wizarding World website it says, newly Sorted Ravenclaws learn that their emblem is the eagle, “which soars where others cannot climb.” Also, you mentioned about Quidditch representing the game of life and I thought you'd be interested in this quote from J K Rowling. She replied on Twitter to someone who said the Quidditch scoring system makes no sense and her response was 'It makes total sense. There's glamour in chasing an elusive lucky break, but teamwork and persistence can still win the day. Everyone's vulnerable to blows of fate and obstructive people, and success means rising above them. Quidditch is the human condition. You're welcome.' I've also read that each Quidditch game in the books foreshadows the story of that book. I'd like to see if I can find any validity to that. Also, J K Rowling studied the classics and drew a lot of inspiration from Greek Mythology. I'm glad you've decided to read the books as you go along with the movies. That should be really interesting. I see the movies as a Sparknotes version of the books although they do change important elements from the books as well. I think all your questions you have from the movies will be answered in the books. I would love it if you made videos reviewing each of the books. Looking forward to your future reactions

Love the impersonations of Myrtle and Ron :-)

It makes so much sense that spiders fear a creature that kills you if you see it, because they have all those eyes and can't blink. J K Rowling really did a great job with these stories. Edit: It's great you take good notes because there are so many great tie-ins and throwbacks. The details matter and y'all do a great job of catching them, especially Gabriella for this one.

Hi great reaction I should have taken notes there were a few questions y’all had I wanted to answer. 1) mud blood is a slur for people with non magic parents or even one non magic parent. Think Nazism/epigenetics. 2) the Wesley’s are “pure blood” so Ginny is not a muggle born she’s not one of the intended targets of Salazars chamber. Also I read all the books as they came out and yes the books mature as the kids age they get less innocent as the kids understand more and more what’s actually going on around them and the writing, book length, and darkness of the film develops w them. Loved your reaction!

Christina
