Creating Marge!

1.  Blue beehive hair do.

Out of the blue (no pun intended) Marge's hairstyle popped into my head and I wonder it it was possible to do in VaM.  After playing around with the afro style for a bit, I was able to get a workable beehive.  It's not perfect since the center of the hair is a bit above her head instead of in her head, so it's kind weird when there's alot of head movements.  Especially when she's looking down, it's a bit of a weird rotate on the hair.

2. Skin color.

As we all know, Simpsons's skin are yellow.  I didn't want to go that route cause yellow never look right on anything and I didn't want her to look like she had jaundice.  Then I thought "How about Orange?"  A fake orange tan is more realistic for middle age milf than having yellow skin.

3. Mouth.

They all have these stylized mouth and had to think of a realistic way to mimic that.  I settle for a huge overbite.  That would explain why their top lip stick out so much (and their cartoonish big teeth).  I maxed out the top teeth and push them out as far as I could get it.

At this point, I accidentally created young Jane March lookalike (ala. The Lover)  Since the Simpsons also have no jaw line, I had to shrink down the jaw as much as possible.

4. Real skin color.

Having head to toe tan seem really fake.  I had to find a way to show some tan lines to show that it was a crazy tan and not really her skin color.  Since she wears a full dress can't really show tan line while clothed.  Then I saw Trump on tv. His orange glow and pale white, puffy eyes was the perfect example of what I needed.. Sunglass tanlines.  I made them extra big, cause gals wear them big sunglasses.  And as an unexpected/unplanned bonus, it kinda resembles their big,  cartoonish white eye balls

The rest of Marge.

I whipped up a simple tube dress in Marvelous Designer.  I've made it knee length instead of ankle length.  1. because it sexier and 2. It wouldn't work right in VaM.  It's very difficult to have clothing that's tight & elastic around limbs without clipping or snap out of place.  Been having similar troubles with long, loose sleeves, where the arms will pass thru it when moving.

Create a simple pearl necklace and added it to the dress.  Without rigid option, it doesn't work that well.  I later decided to do a necklace in VaM using spheres with physics instead.  It moves well with her and it retains it's shape.  But since physics is involved, they do explode when colliding with something at high speed.  I kinda made a work around using an animation pattern to reset the physics by toggling it off/on.

I also create a tube top style tan for her body.  At first I wanted to do full dress length tan, but it just didn't look right.  It was like the a full tan, but reversed.  I settled on just a tube top and bottom tan. (as show in top image)

Creating Homer!

Similarly to Marge, I stared with the hair.  At first I had a pretty bushy, which I figure out that lowering the max count would make thin it out dramatically.

The rest was getting him to be as fat & stout as possible.  Unlike Marge, I had no plans to make him hot.  I just need to get him to look as close to Homer as possible.  I did wanted to get his mouth to resemble Homer's as much as possible, which also gave him a really dumb looking expression too.

The living room!

Obviously I started with the couch.  I didn't want to do any custom asset, it was suppose to be a one-shot gag, so I just used the in game furniture & props.  I put that image of the living room in an image panel and recreated the room.  Since most of the in game items can be textured,  I went and re-textured the walls, floor and 'rug' with Hi Res textures.

The rug was the tricky part.  I originally used the in game floor rug and just re-textured it, BUT it was a rectangular rug with no alpha, so there was this black border around it.  I ended up using capsules, flatten down and re-texturing them to use as the rug.

Oddly, the one object you think would be re-texture would be the picture frame, but it's not.  I had to stick an image panel in the frame for the sail boat picture.

I found a good label for the Duff Beer and mapped it onto a cylinder shape.  It's too bad that the cylinder is a default cylinder uv, where only the sides were usable.  Top and bottom were about 2-3 pixels, so couldn't really get a good open can texture on it.

Couch Gag

This actually did come about as a pun.  BJ 'gag' - > Couch 'gag'

As you can see, early Homer had a much fuller, bushier hairsyle before I thinned it out and Marge is wearing the necklace from the dress.

I had alot of trouble keep the cock from popping out when loading the scene.  After numerous tweaks I manage to get it working everytime.  Even though when it load, it's may not be in her mouth, but after once animation cycle, it's where it should be.

I also used Extraltodeus' ExplosionLimiter & ExpressionRandomizer on Marge & Homer respectively, to prevent Marge from exploding and to give Homer randomized movement.  If you don't have the script, you can get them here
