Quick update inside

New update: My new, updated prediction is that Days 14-15 will be uploaded within the next 16-24 hours.

Unfortunately for me, I haven't slept in the past 40 hours, which is what I'm about to go do now. This is partly why the above ^ time prediction is what it is - because I'll need to sleep 6-7 of those hours.

I'm 97-98% done with everything. I have a few logistical things to do (png -> webp) and a few code things to do, but that's honestly it.. I've played through the update a few times... it feels great. I think you guys are gonna like it.

I'll check back in once I wake up.

It's all so close...

Sure, because we are all cultists and hive mind...*facepalm* I can understand the frustration of yours, but saying that maybe he will "turn out to be a trustworthy dev" is implicating he is not trustworthy...Braindrop is an exmaple of not being trustworthy, but WildMan? come on...have you ever done AVN? Or some coding? If you did, surelly you can understand the possible issues like spoting bad renders late in finishing process or some unexpected bugs...Yes, it can be handled batter and Im sure he will learn from this.

Andrew Nuh

Agreed - I'm sure he will learn from this going forward. I'd personally cosider either removing release dates and replacing them with percentages, or just add an extra a bit of leeway like an addional month and if it ends up being released early then brilliant.

Another deadline missed

HelLoki87

Imagine the process of releasing an update like this. Im sure it’s a stressful and tedious process. As far as the release date, it will happen sooner rather than later. I know WildMan wants to make the fans happy. So a release date is kind of a double edged sword. It’s great for the fans and they want to be updated, but that also could end up changing. I think we all need to realize, that it’s serious business for WildMan and releasing a great update is his main goal. He will deliver!

M-RayMaker

Minor delays really aren't that worrying when the previous updates have always been extremely high quality. It's when the dev goes dark for months and says nothing that is truly worrying...so far the only issue with this game was that he missed a couple deadlines, at least he still constantly keeps everyone updated and doesn't just dip out for 6 months with no warning.

Cody

It is common now that devs, not just in the avn space but in the gaming industry as a whole, set soft deadlines and not meet them. Even developers of AAA games have done this. Of course there's precedent where avn devs specifically promise updates and never deliver, outright scamming their supporters. Is that the case here? Maybe, but I find that very, very hard to believe. If anything, it's a good sign that Wildman is taking the time to expand and perfect their product. And if you expect this to happen in the avn dev cycle, why do risk supporting them at all, Jamal? You don't have to. Save your money. It's easy to check in on F95 or Patreon (without supporting, e.g. scanning post titles for "release", "update", etc.). And why post that your disappointed? You just sound like a frustrated coomer my guy. Spend your time and money more wisely.

Geralt

Honestly yeah, the constant delays and inability to ever hit a deadline is incredibly worrying. Update been delayed for months and I feel like I should have abandoned ship at the first delay.

No name plz

the game will be out today?

Ramon Arosemena

I have no idea why adult game developers attract so many cultist personalities. The HARD deadline that Wildman set was December 31. Before that he was adamant on F95zone that something would get released in November. HE is the one setting these deadlines, and then breaking them. No one is asking him to do this. Or asking for these "so close" status updates that end up coming at 2 week intervals. And there was nothing rude about my original comment. I'm allowed to have an opinion different from the hive, and outside of the group-think.

Jamal Sampson

Wtf???!!! Are you talking about you....rude person....? Right now the original post was made nineteen hours ago. The SOFT deadline was in the next 24 hours. You made your post 3 hours ago. At that point there were 8 hours left...

Robin Trabue

Dev never can satisfy everybody...some like the deadlines and some dont...I dont mind getting it late. At least I see effort and progress nd I understand that sometimes you cant predict debugging time. This is not Braindrop and WVM.

Andrew Nuh

If you don't support first time developers, how do you expect new projects to exist? Everyone has a beginning and the only way to develop is through experience. I can understand the frustrations but... at least you can see that WildMan is a determined individual and that's why he's set himself all these deadlines. I am sure that the deadlines could have been kept but the quality would have been much poorer and with loads of bugs. Considering that everyone appreciates that this visual novel is one of the best out there, we just need to show some support.

Filip Oros

Aaaaand THIS is how you quickly make people lose faith in you. By setting hard deadlines, and consistently not making them. There was no reason to be so adamant that "SOMETHING" was going to be released in November. No reason to then post that poll since the option 86% of the people chose "Bulk, All 3 Days Release - ALL DECEMBER" ended up not even being a realistic option (we still aren't getting all 3 days at one time even with this delay). No reason to say December 31. This is the reason why I do not like to support first time developers, and I think it was a big mistake to do so here. Hopefully in time you turn out to be a trustworthy developer, and if so I will support your next project.

Jamal Sampson

Happy new year and rest well. Take care of yourself that's the most important thing to do.

Didyme

Again.... In christmas all more good. Happy New Years

Alessandro Moro

Get a good night's sleep and then calmly look for bugs. Don't stress yourself. Projects like this are hard to calculate, especially if you don't want to deliver rubbish. It is like it is. A good opportunity for all of us to meditate. ;-)

Stephan Cordes

We love you too sir, like I said it's easily my favorite AVN, even over being a dik

Dunkster

Here's what the three of you don't know: That I love you. It's close... I'm still banking it'll be uploaded within the next 12-16 hours, but... it's true that my estimated times are not great. :(

Wildman

sadly its too true

smognog

...yeah lol don't get me wrong it's easily my favorite AVN but he never is reliable with his estimated times

Dunkster

surely op will deliver 💀

smob

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I really appreciate it!

Ryan Jackson

Happy New Year!

Jack T

Android will be released in same time frame as usual, aka basically at the same time.

Wildman

I know you are extremely busy, so I hate to even ask. But, I did not see Android or iOS versions included in the post. Just curious if that means mobile versions will he released at a later date? Thank you for everything!

Ryan Jackson

Happy New Year from the future! Thank you for your dedication, time and effort with this project. I know it can be frustrating at times but keep with it. Here's to Stranded in Space 2023!
