Comic character dev sketches
Added 2023-10-02 10:02:28 +0000 UTCHey check out this super secret early dev for this comic I am committed to making! I want to go for a sorta more cartoony style. Once I have the faces of a few chars nailed down, I want to try out b&w vs flat colour rendering, because I'm still undecided.
Black and white saves so much labour, even more than you'd think from just not having to choose colours. It makes lots of details not matter, and speeds rendering a lot since one of your colours is also your eraser, essentially. But I also have this lovely muted colour palette in my head, all greys and creams with dark blue skirts, and I want to see if it looks good enough to be worth the effort.
Anyway! I think these are pretty fun and expressive. Stay tuned for more, if I can fit them in around MOVING HOUSE SOON AAAAAAAAA
