[Update] Micros finished, just waiting on the last bit of audio now

Update time again: I’ve finished off adding and animating all the micros in this scene. Got a whole bunch of ‘em in the background now, along with a lone wanderer who ends up stumbling in later. I mentioned before that I was planning on having three showing up closer to the camera, but in the end it felt rather distracting:

Having just the one guy doesn’t distract too much from the remaining micros still lingering in the background (after the rest get stomped), and also allowed me to focus more on refining his animations. I ended up reusing the lower poly versions of the other models I made for the rest of the micros in this scene instead.

I would like to get more in depth with how I’ve been handling background characters in Blender so far, but one of the big things I want to do is come up with a better system for that. Whether that be full on crowd simulation, or something simpler and more scenario specific. Going through the process of setting up micros again brought that to the forefront of my mind, so I think I’ll save a deeper dive into that for later.

Most of the vocal audio is ready to go, just waiting on one re-recording:

Another thing that happened recently is that I got the vocal audio for Rog that I commissioned. Again it's just stuff like grunting, growling, yawning, breathing, etc. I'm not really sure what the technical term for that is to be honest? Anyway, they sent over the final cut and now I’m just waiting on a re-recording of a small clip from that (literally just 2-3 seconds).

Commissioning stuff for projects does mean having to work around other people’s schedules though, so in the meantime I’ll be fixing up a few lingering things. Then making a start on the rest of the ambient/environmental audio too. Usually, I would save that till after rendering, but there’s not really a downside to doing it now while I wait for the re-recorded clip.

Once that’s all finished it will be time for rendering, and I’ll be posting another update covering how long I’m expecting that to take (along with some other details too)~

I'm sorry, I use the translator, and I'm sure it must have confused you, and I didn't pay attention to the words it generated. And it's good that it could happen in the future, I've always imagined an animation of you with growing feet

Gusho

Oh, I knew what you were referring too with ' feet grow and tearing your socks', you've mentioned this hulk scene before. What I was confused about was when you said 'possible to happen?', if you meant in this specific animation, or just as a future idea generally-speaking. And yeah, it is possible in the future ;)

Lost Proxy

look at this scene from the 2003 Hulk movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuantDOuI68 that's what I'm talking about, but whether it will be possible in the future

Gusho

Not quite sure what you mean? Having clothes ripping due to growth is certainly feasible in Blender (and may come up in future stuff), though as I mentioned before it's not what this *specific* animation is about.

Lost Proxy

is that idea of making your feet grow and tearing your socks off (like a scene from the Hulk movie) possible to happen?

Gusho

This looks so great! I "can't wait" to see the final cut but I am happy to wait, because I am glad that you're taking the correct amount of time to craft this so well. ❤️
