Goddess Maker Mechanic: Use of NPCS

In the full game of Goddess Maker, NPCs are the “living” population that make up the diverse coloration of the human species.
Unlike other games where the collective of humanity is an absent force that is dwarfed to irrelevance in the face of a few characters, NPCS in Goddess Maker are meant to be inscribed with more characterization and value to them, as if their lives matter, and being felt in numbers, especially in dilemmas concerning disparities of attributes.
Benchmark Observation and Comparison
Probably the most apparent use of NPCs is to serve a diverse catalogue of difference when concerning attributes of the near and extreme.
Like if you wish compare the partner character and a sample giantess, you can see how much of gap the entities have between them.
This sort of easily accessed logic is a great boon to Goddess Maker’s quality of life, as it is profiles the levels of potential possibilities.
External Dilemmas
External Dilemmas, not to be confused with Extraordinary Dilemmas, an opted-in extraordinary version of external dilemmas, are random events, occurring during the break, that feature a NPC going to the lab forcing an interaction with them like a wacky mustache twirling thief that comes occasionally to steal stock from “The Lab”’s store room.
Given all the other possible events that could occur during the random event period, external dilemmas is programmed to occur less often.
Social Experiments
As opposed to regular experiments of sole examination usually prompted by a recent transformation, social experiments are an examination of comparison involving another character, like two people engaging in a game of chess to see who is the smarter and skilled player.
The Player and Partner can engage in social experiments during the evening after work typically attending “clubs” and/or engaging in monthly super competitions.
“Clubs” are evening accessible areas where there are a lot of NPCs and are hosted by a consequential character, like Marissa, who hosts the Shake Resort, a breast attribute themed location where the region’s elites gather to discuss politics and affluent opportunities.
Super Competitions are one time events of either intelligence, strength, or beauty that occur appropriately only on “The Lab”’s days off and are scaled upwards in difficult corresponding to the timeline.
Participation and victory are not required, but are a good challenge to encourage development in the secondary attributes that are not height or soul.
Public Opinion
NPCs are the face of the general Public Opinion of “The Lab”, malleable to “The Lab”’s outward facing decisions.
Public Opinion of “The Lab”’s activities is something that is important for “The Lab” to pay attention to, as a backlash to “The Lab”’s possible developed negative reputation is something “The Lab” is better off avoiding.
To remedy this toward a general support direction, as opposed to a disaster of relations, “The Lab” can spend time away from self-interest pursuits and toward completing philanthropy missions like giving hugs to NPCs so to cure the numbness of touch or discovering the cure to cancer.
Community Metamorphosis
The Community Metamorphosis is an overall transformation of NPCs in reaction to “The Lab”’s science exports, and because of this many NPCs will look different at the different times you see them.
And because the population starts off impoverished and feeble in circumstance of living through a world war, much growth potential is open to occur, as the population transitions to one with greater attributes than before the war.
In the background, the game will track the activity of occurring transformations in pseudo real-time, with the higher the circulation of growth exports increasing the opportunistic engagement of the community’s non-consequential individuals undergoing transformations.
The majority of NPCs will have at least one additional form of evolution, with some possessing more forms than others dependent on their proximately to main characters.
All the additional forms of evolution are pre-determined, allowing for instances to be observed from the Omni-Hub.
Consequential Characters
While the main focus of the “Lab of God” section is on the Player and Partner Characters, there are those who have an association value to the mains, like Susanna and her value of being a shopkeeper transacting nutrients to help the Player and Partner Characters grow.
These Consequential Characters are characters who are malleable to change and can change the world around them (This definition excludes other more minor NPCS who are malleable to change, but cannot change the world around them and factional entities who follow the same exclusionary understanding but vice versa.)
Consequential Characters are also the most “free” of the NPCs of a game section, as they can directly be interacted with during the evening, after work, and at the player’s discretion.
This includes forming bonds that can evolve into opportunities of sexual intercourse, among other special events that involve two characters.
Note that only when the relationship between the Player and Partner Character is negative as result of soiling their relationship, can the Player Character date and engage in sex with one of the consequential female characters, and the partner character can do the same but instead with one of the male characters.
Dating isn’t mechanic that is realized like a dating system, but more so a series of events that open up that opportunities for sex.
From the Player perspective it’s direct since the female NPC is in front of you, whilst implied with hints when the partner character engages in it, at least until the player character goes out of the way to check his suspicions and it becomes a more apparent reality.
Keep in mind that although these are major characters that can form special relationships with the main characters, none of the consequence characters can directly get involved in the lab’s affairs akin to having another employee.
For the Player Character’s possible girls it is mostly out of decency for the Partner Character; and for the Partner Character, her three possible boys are either too repulsed by the lab’s research, too much of a liability of twisting the lab’s agenda, or generally too dumb to understand it.
In the "Lab of God" section there are 10 consequential characters when including the Player Character & Partner Character.
Excluding the mains, so far I revealed four of the eight; Susanna, Freda, Marissa, and Disgust:
Susanna is the null attribute confident, host of the Grocery Store, whose character arc is based on her innocence and confidence, and a possible goddess interest for the Player to date.
Freda is the height attribute confident, host of the Growth Factory, whose character arc is based on her height obsession, and a possible goddess interest for the Player to date.
Marissa is the breast attribute confident, host of the Shake Resort, whose character arc is tied to the growth of the region she manages, and a possible goddess interest for the Player to date.
Disgust is the penis attribute confident, host of the Pork Farm, whose character arc is tied to the honor and morale of the region he manages, and a possible god interest for the Partner to date.
Then a vague description to the remaining four:
A handsome ideologue who is the intelligence attribute confident, host of the Chess Club, whose character arc is about having a crush on the partner character and serving toward her divine revolutionary dream, and a possible god interest for the Partner to date.
A childhood friend of the Player's who is the beauty attribute confident, host of the Dance Hall, whose character arc is about comforting the player character and turning him against the power hungry partner character, and a possible goddess interest for the Player to date.
A muscular knucklehead who is the strength attribute, host of the Fight Fraternity, whose character arc is about serving as the main growth rival, and is both a cheating interest for the Partner to date and a god interest for the Player. This consequential character is special in that it is technically a couple, as the character is paired up with a snarky female floozy.
An enigmatic entity who is the extradimensional attribute confident, whose character arc is about her awe of the world around her, and a possible goddess interest for the Player to date.
Also the Partner Character doubles as the soul attribute confident, whose character arc is tied to a perpetual ambition to become an omnipotent goddess, and the main goddess interest for the Player to date.
Faction Characters
In the “Lab of God” section, Factional Characters, tend to be external threats that “The Lab” is faced to overcome like an outside government who wishes to consolidate “The Lab”’s proprietary research toward their own benefit, as opposed like the Partner Character using it to become a goddess.
Many of these factional characters eventually become characters of consequence in game sections revolving around their faction.
However, in “Lab of God” their most active presence is during their special period in the timeline, where they can become a liability and can steal a god serum from the “The Lab” right after it’s manufactured, which transitions to a “bad” ending where an associated faction character of becomes a god or goddess.
Fanon Characters
Fanon Character are Characters contributed by Goddess Maker’s Fan Community, whom can be fan interpretations of known waifus, other popular characters, and OCs.
I general hope Goddess Maker can become a game that features content developed by the community, in addition to the base game, as a sort of open collaboration to make Goddess Maker the most universally contributed game it can be.
Virtual Characters
Virtual Characters are characters that exist in Virtual Space, a facility that “The Lab” can develop to simulate all kinds of scenarios like the experience of magical powers or being a giant. However, its most important mechanic is being a development facility to grow the soul.
Virtual Character can include interaction with the Virtual Shopkeeper, “Vyra”, Ascension Story NPCS, Generated Benchmark Characters, and other Fanon Characters who require a less grounded space to exist in.
Arbitrary Characters
Arbitrary Characters are the most insignificant of the NPCs, not that they are of less value, but they are very limited in their usage, mostly to satisfy one end and/or appear as a stereotype representing a group of characters.
