Goddess Maker Mechanic: External Threat Timeline

Introduction

The “Lab of God” section has a continuity of canon events that progressively get crazier and crazier, the longer the procrastination on securing a path to godhood occurs.

This is the reasoning towards the inclusion of the day-to-day progression mechanic in “Lab of God” as, as humans we are bound to our external surroundings that we do not control and are at always at the liability of changing for the worse.

Consider it a pessimistic perspective and a grand underlining motivation of needing a god in a world far past its golden age and whose future is a certain dead end.

Anyways, “Lab of God” takes this concept and puts it on a steep cliff of headache, where the player continuously feels that the world is working against them and putting ever-more larger obstacles on the path to godhood.

Calendar Expectations

Although, while the expected player’s time to create a successful Ascension Mechanism is between 6 to 9 months, the game’s allotted maximum time is 1 year.

Note that the day of the year Goddess Maker starts is random, ranging from day 1 to 365, so seasonal events and corresponding circumstances are encountered at different times along the traditional cycle.

Godly Ascension Under a Year?

As an in-before to the irrational nature of achieving godhood in less of year, consider it an extraordinary act of will and ambition, superseded by the actual developer explanation of a balance between reason and good gameplay.

Same can be said in reverse about the game's pacing, which would only be a slight problem on the first playthrough, as once New Game Plus is unlocked for the Game Section, the day-to-day actions would go by much quicker.

Route Changes

As you will soon read below, many of the route changes to other game sections that leave the “Lab of God” tree are specific to that month’s outcome, typically going out the way to access it or failure of overcoming the threat.

Also, only some of the route changes are timeline specific, as most are based on relationship (12 of 23 compared to the 11 of 23 here, for a total of 24 planned game sections including the extensive “Lab of God”).

External Threat Timeline

Month 1: Lab Start / Debt Period

•Canon Event: The Partner Character wants to become a Goddess, and so the Player Character takes out a Loan to Purchase a Lab.

•External Threat: Took out Loan and Must Pay It Back or Else.

•Since this month is a soft tutorial to the basic mechanics, there is no route change opportunity, as things are just getting started.

Month 2: Deadline to Pay Off Loan

•At the start of month, comes the first reminder to pay off the debt and its accrued interest, escalating the weeks after until culminating into an outcome.

•If the deadline passes and the loan isn’t paid off in full, a Route Change to the Game Section “Society of Superheroes” will begin.

Month 3: Small Business Period

Canon Event: News of “The Lab’s” Revolutionary Research gets around causing External Factions to work toward Acquiring It through Escalating Soft Power Pressures and Incentives.

External Threat: Being Pressured by Outside Capitalist Interests whom Desire “The Lab’s” Research and Willingness to use Underhanded Tactics in order to Take It for Themselves.

•During the month, the Route Change Option to the “Corporation of Cooperation” Game Section can be accepted.

Month 4: Deadline to Form Corporation

•At the start of the month, External Factions lessen their “carrot” tactics of acquiring “The Lab”’s research, and become more aggressive by using the “stick” approach of levying artificial pressures to force consolidation.

•If “The Lab” doesn’t become a Stronghold Corporation in the allotted timeframe, the Game Section “Independence of Research” begins.

Month 5: War Resuming Period

Canon Event: The World War ended with the Super Powers fractured into Regional Powers, and during this month, the War Resumes to Consolidate the Regional Powers back into their respective Super Powers, which is Bad News for a Lab that wants to Govern Itself.

External Threat: Being Consolidated by Regional Powers who may Either Nationalize and/or make the World Changing Research Illegal.

•Exclusive to this month is the Route Change Option to the Game Section “Queen of Beauty”.

Month 6: Deadline to Form Regional Entity

•At the start of the month, “The Lab”’s region is declared an International Pariah and trade is marked up severely, forcing “The Lab” to embrace autarkic measures or else face inevitable consolidation.

•If the deadline passes and recognition of the independence of the region doesn’t occur, then the game section “Virus of Vampirism” begins.

Month 7: Alien Invasion Period

Canon Event: A Small Legion of Gigantic Aliens Arrive to Conquer Earth on behalf of their Empire.

External Threat: The World being Conquered by “Star Emperors”.

•Star Emperors are a divergent human species whom were flinged across the galaxy over one thousand years ago and have come back, thousands of times taller than before, seeking to consolidate their old home into their expanding space empire.

•A monthly exclusive Route Change option to the Game Section “War of Worlds” can be chosen.

Month 8: Deadline to Defeat the Aliens

•At the start of the month, the titanic space aliens breech “The Lab”’s surrounding area causing havoc thats requires immediate attention.

•If the deadline passes without casting off the threat, a Route Change occurs and the “King of Cocks” Game Section begins.

Month 9: Portals Opening Up Period

•Canon Event: Small, but Expanding, Portals begin Opening Up around the Universe resulting in Lovecraftian Creatures from Other Dimensions to begin flowing through and Establishing Supernatural Bridges to Other Worlds.

•External Threat: The Possibility of an Outer God Passing through a Portal Consolidating the World as Theirs.

•"Outer gods" are gods of other universes that are strictly separated from “Lab of God”’s universe with no gods.

•Exclusive to this month is the Route Change Option to the Game Section “Perpetuations of Creations”.

Month 10: Deadline to Close Portals

•At the start of the month, a whimsical goddess pokes her head out of a local portal, and spends the next month expanding it, so that her body can fit through, whilst casting magic into the universe to make it harder to prevent her emergence.

•If the deadline passes and the portals have not closed, then the Route Change to the Game Section “Universe of Deities” will begin.

Month 11: Reality Collapsing Period

Canon Event: The World begins to Progressively Crash, Fracture, and Slow Down at an Accelerating Rate as the Laws of Physics are in a Process of Breaking Down.

•External Threat: Reality is Collapsing and the Player and Partner Character are given a Warning All Around Them that Time is Running Out, Leaving under Two Months to Finish Consolidating on a Successful Ascension Plan.

•Though of unknown conditions to access, a Route Change to the “X of Dimension” Game Section can opted in to access during this exclusive month.

Month 12: Deadline to Develop Ascension Mechanism

•If a whole year has passed and still no Ascension Mechanism has been developed, then a Route Change will begin the “Odyssey of Armageddon” Game Section.

Comments

I was planning to share this "Timeline" later; however, I feel like it's better to consolidate the scope early, so that game testers can navigate the game without it being too open and seeming arbitrary.

Ascension

I had no idea that you had this kind of content planned for this but it sounds awesome.

Floridaman969

It's more of well, I can't seem to recall the video proper, but there was one where a girl effortlessly killed off: * An entire harem of girls by brushing them aside * 2 robbers with her mind * A Kaiju by squeezing her fingers on it * A UFO by looking at it. That's the sort of "not an issue" I'm talking about

Danny Reyes

If you have the will to overcome it, it's not a big issue. Attaining Godhood shouldn't come as a simple matter though.

Ascension

But depending on your choices, these may not be that big an issue... right?
