Kimberly would have been a good addition. It was great to see Tony Todd in his final role as the mortician / coroner, before he passed away. R.I.P. Tony Todd!!

2025-06-01 08:40:03 +0000 UTC13:53 assuming the sequel novels are canon (officially licensed by New Line Cinema, along with having character ties to the movies and not conflicting anything), Burke (the cop in FD2) ended up dying because the novels establish that only the person that dies and comes back is given new life. If other survivors don't use the method as well, they will still be targeted by Death, so unless Burke did the same thing as Kimberly, he's still in danger. Considering the movie strictly mentioned Kim as as survivor, that makes it likely that Burke still got killed.

That never happened in the theatrical cut, meaning it was never official, not even the movie's novelization mentioned it. Bloodlines further cemented that by mentioning Kimberly's survival.
