My maybe hot take is I truly believe me was written when she was feeling so vulnerable that she had to make it ME! To make it so she could feel comfortable releasing it. I think it was a song of denial and anger after everything that happened that she had to make it poppy and silly to have something to hide behind because lyrics wise? It can be a really sad song.

That was Taylor’s first VMA and Beyoncé already won several awards and ended up winning the best award of the night (Video of the Year or something) and she graciously invited Taylor to come up and finish her speech during Beyoncé’s speech time - Queen behavior!

And even I have songs I don’t like of hers. It’s okay to kindly critic something or not love something she’s done or even joke around about not liking it. Even her biggest fans have songs they dislike. Every time “It’s Nice to Have a Friend” comes on I’m like oh no Taylor girl what are you doingggg?? 😂

She literally is just going to football games to support her partner and receives so much hate.. for existing. For taking up space. Something to know Kanye also released a music video with a doll created to look like Taylor’s naked body laying next to him in bed. It also came out years later that he in fact edited the video Kim posted and the full video came out and it showed how uncomfortable she was with it and how he didn’t mention those things. And like she said in Cassandra “when the truth comes out it’s quiet”. I think her relationship with Joe is such a good lesson in some people are meant for a season, a reason or a lifetime. Joe was perfect for her in that season. And I’m so glad he was there for her during that time. In Look What You Made Me Do she has a single dollar bill in the bathtub scene to represent her SA case. I’m proud of her standing up and showing so many women it’s okay to speak up for yourself and inspire us to have the strength to stand up as well. I love that she shined a light on how hard SA cases can be on the victim and how hard that process is to go through. People love to say well why didn’t you say something not realizing how hard it is to talk about.
