Brief summary of Dec’s monthly questionnaire:
Added 2023-01-04 02:20:32 +0000 UTCHow do you feel about this month's public content so far?
- Happy with what we had - keep it up (21 votes – 91.3%)
- Need more content (1 votes – 4.3%)
- Prefer certain direction (3 votes – 13%)
- Other: I would be very invested in a comic series or shorts that could be humorous, ecchi, or anything you want just so long as it has a story – (1 votes – 4.3%)
- Other: Finish the comic with side illustrations first then make your next move. - (1 votes – 4.3%)
I had been trying out different things, like animation, image sets, comic rather than just illustrations. But it seems this approach also divert my attention, making me draw a lot less illustrations. What do you think about this approach?
- It's a welcome change (11 votes – 45.8%)
- I should go back to focus more on illustration (2 votes – 8.3%)
- Both are fine (14 votes – 58.3%)
- Other: Build at your pace. – (1 vote – 4.2%)
Continued from previous questions: I had been working on an Erotic Comic (Tails x Cream) with 70 pages long. I planned to explore ways to render comic pages in Jan, start uploading finished pages after Feb and finished uploading them by the end of the year. That means I need to upload about 7 pages a month. Almost 2 pages a week. This will likely result in even less illustration published. I am thinking maybe to substitute them with simple doodles or less well rendered illustration. What do you think?
- Sounds good. Go for it! (18 votes – 75%)
- Keep the comic publishing schedule. But no doodles. still make fully rendered illustration. (1 votes – 4.2%)
- Delayed the comic publishing schedule and make sure I have time for illustration(4 votes – 16.7%)
- Other:Build up a buffer before. That way you can still do full illustrations as well as the comic. (1 votes – 4.2%)
- Other:It would be nice if you can also do some pony stuff while you are working on this. :) (1 votes – 4.2%)
- Other:Just a suggestion but you could also do one comic page and one illustration a week(1 votes – 4.2%)
- Other:initial comic black and white publish then render fully with colour later with fixes from initial. (1 votes – 4.2%)
My response:
Thanks everyone’s input. Wow, didn’t notice I made so SO MANY typos until I transfer what I typed in Word. 😐I hope you guys didn’t suffer too much when screening through my super messy sentences. 😓
Anyway, go back to my response. I’m very glad most still approve my production rate since I kept worrying that I might have drawn too few. Knowing this is comforting. I still hope I can be more productive, but I probably shouldn’t so I wouldn’t cause my old injury in my right arm to relapse.
I’m also glad to see that most don’t mind my change of approach. I’d be happy to try to create more of these different things if I’m able to.
As for the 70 pages long comic. I’d love to complete it this year, but I worry that it is difficult or people might not like low rendering doodles too much. I therefore will try to draw simple doodles in the next 2 months along with some short comics. See how it goes and how you guys like them. If all seems well, I’ll go for the plan of completing the comic this year. If not, I’ll delay the comic completion schedule to make time for illustration.
Also the suggestion of buffer month is wonderful. I think I should pause the Patreon in July. That way I can keep making progress without worrying patreon promises, I can make time for postcard special offer too!
The suggestion of making black and white comic first is also a very tempting idea. I personally still love colored comic too much to let the color go, so I do want to still have color for the Erotica comic, but I can try this one on the smaller comics or some other comic ideas I have. 😊
By the way, the Tails X Cream Erotica comic is about 40% comedy, 40% drama and 20% sexy interaction. Most of the sexy bits happened later in the story. It is Erotica rather than Pornography after all. (Not not I don’t have ideas for Pornography XD). Just want to put it out there, so people who wish to see sexy interactions wouldn’t be too disappointed to learn they won’t get any of them in the first half of the comic. ^^;
Other requests:
1. For pin-ups, instead of bra+panties and nude, I'd love to see bra+panties, just panties, and nude:
Certainly. I’ll make just panties version too in the future. 😊
2. More Dazzling booty! >:P :
Goof idea! Come to think of it. I have not drawn them for a long time. I’d love to draw some sexy doodles about them. 😁
3. Maybe create your own Mane 6 based on MLP G4
Interesting idea. I might give it a try when time permitted!
4. Keep Up the good work!:
Thank you! I’ll do my best!
Joke question:
When customizing a character in a RPG either in video game or tabletop game, which kind of character you like to create the most?
- Strong and Tough fighter (4 votes – 16.7%)
- Agile and Sneaky Rogue (6 votes – 25%)
- Smart and wise scholar (6 votes – 25%)
- Beautiful and Charismatic smooth talker (1 votes – 4.2%)
- A Super Lucky Bastard. (3 votes – 12.5%)
Other reply:
- Mysterious Wildcard, or Pious Lawful Stupid Character
- Anyone but the charismatic one. Since only a game designed by nerds would have "Charisma" as a fantasy power.
- Very Sneaky Archer
- Not sure. I don’t have anyone to RP with
- My OCs irregardless of the characteristics
- Mage: max DPS
- An all rounder rouge that is not afraid to throw hands when diplomacy is exhausted.
Interesting to see everyone’s take on creating characters!
I personally prefer a hybrid between a smart guy and a sneaky rogue. This preference is probably caused by my time playing Fallout. In classic Fallout, a character’s intelligence determines how much skill points they can have. It therefore is vital to have at least reasonably intelligent character. Dumb character could be fun in the special social interaction, but it is pretty painful to play due to how incompetent the character is in their skills. In fact, in Chinese Fallout community at least, intelligence is often regarded as the king of attributes due to how important it is. (Funny enough, Charisma is often regarded as the garbage of attributes due to how insignificant it is in game, which match one of the replies perfectly); On the other hand, Sneak is also pretty useful too. In classic fallout, sneak allow me to fight on enemy gang that are clearly stronger than me. I can pick out a gang member, kill them, then run way and hide to exit combat. Then come back, repeat the process until all gang member is dead. I remembered the exhilarating joy of defeating Slaver of Den in Fallout 2 at just level 3 or 4. Later in New Vegas and Fallout 4, I also get very used to Bethesda style sneaking and its overpowered effect. Most importantly, stealth makes me feel in control of the battlefield even if the enemy is technical more powerful than my character. It therefore shapes me to want to play smarter and stealthy character.
Though, in November during the Patreon Pause, I tried the Lucky Bastard approach and find it very fun as well! But that’s probably due to New Vegas having gambling mechanics which allow me to be very rich and powerful in early game as well as having weapon that can multiply the critical hit change with the character’s luck. Not sure if I will feel the same in other game.
Comments
Oh, I beat The Outer Worlds twice. The second time in supernova difficulty too! I generally place it in high regard. Though something about Outer Worlds feel a bit lacking. I need to dig deeper to construct an coherent argument, but the first 2 things that come to my mind are (1) signature aesthetic and (2) Thematic expression. Regarding (1); Compare to fallout which has Power Armor, Pip-boy, retro-futuristic vibe...etc, Outer Worlds doesn't impress me with something of strong identity. Regarding (2); I feel the theme of capitalism oppressions gets a little diluted later in the story. It's pretty great for the first town of Edgewater, but later it seems a lot less important. I no longer feel it's supposed struggles. It's such a shame, I really think the idea of capitalism oppression under a good reason (or at least a good intention) is a strong and interesting theme to explore. The authority is aware of the pain and suffering, but allow it, even take part in it, because they believe it is the best way to save the humanity of this colony from the impending doom rather than simple greed. Alas, it was a bit underwhelming with a rather black and white morals and reasoning to take sides. I do really like the joke ending though.

2023-01-05 02:04:56 +0000 UTCI wonder what you'd think of The Outer Worlds. It's all a bit stodgy and not all that Fallout, but feels very inspired by Fallout 1 in particular. Especially with the hub with a bunch of setpieces world structure. And, it makes sense, since it was made by Obsidian. You know, the same Obsidian as New Vegas.
