NEW ASSETS:
750 new assets (objects, patterns, textures, and paths). See the Easy Download Table for details.
IMPORTANT!!
This release leverages three new optional Dungeondraft mods (all free). You can find them here:
https://cartographyassets.com/assets/87173/convert-object-to-pattern/
https://cartographyassets.com/assets/57470/blurred-edge-patterns/ https://cartographyassets.com/assets/57221/colourable-objects-and-paths/

HOW TO WORK WITH ZIP FILES IN PARTS (001, 002, 003, etc)
NOTE: Some packs exceed the file size limit of Patreon. Use 7zip (free). The packs are downloadable in .ZIP files separated into parts (001, 002, etc). 1. Put them in the same folder. 2. Right-click Part 001 and select "Extract Here". It should automatically detect, unzip, and combine all parts. 3. You won't see a visual indication that anything happened, but you should see a new .dungeondraft_pack file in the folder, and it's size should be larger than the sum of its parts.
THE ARCHIVE (ORIGINAL DUNGEONDRAFT FILES)
The Archive is where I put all of my original Dungeondraft map files. It's a trove of design work that you can examine or modify as you like. I make no guarantees for any old scenes since artists change their organization all the time, and some packs require a premium investment.

Have you installed and run 7zip? I've never heard of your problem before, but perhaps installing seven zip will associate the file extensions properly

In your download table (on GoogleDocs) anytime there is a File 1, File 2, File 3 etc listed (doesn't matter wat asset collection), the first one downloads fine but File 2 keeps downloading as a PDF and File 3 comes across as an unrecognizable file format. No matter what browser I use it is the same thing.

I'm not sure it's actually needed. You can open it and see if there are any missing assets. I'll try to confirm when I'm back from vacation.

Hi there, I subscribed after seeing the new elvish cities pack which I love. However, when loading the map file for the release, I'm getting a message saying that : "This map was created with the following missing packs loaded. [BW] Wilderness Assets 00v1" I can't seem to find that wilderness pack anywhere on here or the easy download and archive pages. Any help to locate it would be very much appreciated, thanks!

If you see the three pieces, they add up to sum number of megabytes. When you unzip and generate the single Dungeondraft file, it will be roughly if not slight larger in size.
Second, you can open up the asset pack in dungeondraft and see for yourself if it's working.

2024-03-07 22:22:46 +0000 UTC
You don't open the other parts. You just put them in the same folder as the first part, and you use seven zip to unzip the first part. It will automatically find the other parts in the folder, unzip them, and put them all together into one file
Baileywiki
2024-03-07 22:13:56 +0000 UTC
I'm not being able to open the .zip archives because of the rest of the file's name. Neither winrar or 7zip worked to unzip the file.

You just need to create a custom assets folder, put the path in Dungeondraft, and then drop your asset packs in that folder. You don't need this entire tutorial, but the basics for adding assets is in here...

I think DD gets overwhelmed easily with too many thumbs to create. Ok, good news.
Baileywiki

If looks like the problem occurred when trying to build the thumbnails. When I tested each one individually, it works fine and now it doesn't crash.

I was having the same issue, that 7zip didn't recognize it as a zip file, but that was because i was going straight to the file and trying to open it with 7zip... if i open 7zip first and navigate to the file it worked fine.

2023-07-24 22:26:39 +0000 UTC
You should just be able to right-click the .001 file and extract it, which will then extract the others. It works for me and everyone else. Alternatively, I think you can open the 7zip interface and drag the parts into there. Let me know if you're still unsuccessful.

7zip doesn't recognize [BW] Assets_A.zip.001, [BW] Assets_A.zip.002 as unzippable files. It seems like the .00x extension is messing with it?
Alex Dawe
2023-07-17 16:18:22 +0000 UTC
If you are following the instructions, it's possible you don't realize that it's working.
1. Install 7zip
2. Download all parts (...001, 002, etc) to the same folder
3. right-click part 001 and select 'extract here's
It should then generate a .dungeondraft_assets file in the same directory. It won't give you any kind of confirmation that it happened. But that file will be a larger size than the sum of its parts, as a visual indication that it worked.

Hello
i have the same difficulties reported by the others.
the zip files cannot be edited or opened and dungeondraft does not recognize anything.
is there a solution to the problem?
Thanks very much

You would only attempt to unzip the 001 file. The rest would be automatic if they are in the same folder. I can test it tonight and see if I can replicate.

Yes. Downloaded and installed 7-Zip/WinZip. Tried to unpack the files through 7-Zip but it can't recognize the files as .zip files. 7-Zip prompts the fault message: "Cannot open file XXXXX. It does not appear to be a valid archive".

You download both into the same directory. Then Unzip the first, which will auto unzip the second. I just tested and it works great. Try using 7-Zip (free software) if your native Zip can't do it.
Right click the first file. Select 7-Zip / Extract Here.

Sorry, Patreon isn't good at comments. Which maps are you looking at? One of my design principles is to always have doors fall on grid squares so maybe something is rendering incorrectly for you?
Baileywiki
2021-01-04 13:48:08 +0000 UTC
I'm really excited about this contest! I hope to see it pull in a lot of contributors to these designs and see this library grow. I'll try to give it a shot, but I don't get a lot of free time (otherwise I wouldn't be looking for ways to save time!) to put things together.
Quite a few (all?) of the buildings you've made have the doors and windows centered in a grid square instead of directly on the grid. Why is that? I don't think that is typical of how most people design maps, and not how DungeonDraft intended walls/doors to be placed most of the time. Is there a benefit I've not yet noticed of doing this? Do you require submissions to have windows and doors placed as you place them?
Walls seem to be oddly placed as well. There's a "glass" wall surrounding every building. If the walls were completely on-grid, I don't think this wall should be necessary. It appears to me that the glass wall keeps someone from going underneath the roof and exposing the interior. But wouldn't it be OK if they did that? The "regular" wall would keep from from seeing inside.
