The gods basically messed everything up and forced a faster war, while I would expect the Emperor and others to looks deeper on why the Sarku... Fumentari attempted to do the assassination without orders or on a rushed attemp the war cannot be stopped now. attacking the lizard-man would actually force them to ally themselves with the Lepus even faster, if the cities are like Tenochitlan from the Aztecs it would be a nightmake to attack it without ships, and since the lizardmena are amphibians they don't need ships to attack other ships. I actually foresee many non human races moving to the steppes and choosing to live under the queen rather than being slaves under the Saderans or being conscripted. This of course would also bring a lot of spies but would also bolster the budding empire Tanya is creating. I like they are taking Tanya seriously, its just that they don't understand how deep is her bag of tricks.

2026-02-21 20:12:36 +0000 UTCIt won't exactly be like Britain and Belgium in WW1. Initially the Lizardmen will not ask for help despite concerns from Tanya. But after facing repeated failures down to their last fort, then the Lizardmen will request help from the Lepus. In the end that's up to Fall.

They are making assumptions that would make sense for Sardea and given the fact they assume she has been heavily influenced by her time in Sardea I can see why they would plan on what they would have done.
