Which VTT Do You Use?
Added 2023-06-24 20:36:26 +0000 UTCIf you play online, which VTT do you use the most?

Shard Tabletop is an undeservedly unknown yet strong contender for anyone’s D&D VTT. I’ve ditched both Roll20 and Foundry for this simple and elegant tool. For me, it keeps the VTT in the background and the game and story in the spotlight.

2023-07-04 16:34:18 +0000 UTCI picked roll20 but that's always been as a player. The only game I've DMed has been in person without using a VTT as any kind of aid (I know some people do that kind of thing...) I haven't done the research, but I feel like I'd probably look at Owlbear Rodeo first if I was going to set up a game, it sounded dead simple from the one I time I used it as a player. Although everyone has good things to say about Foundry too, I'd definitely give it a look if I was going to get serious about running a recurring online game.

2023-07-01 23:19:56 +0000 UTCI am currently a player in Roll20, I got a foundry licence, but I still have to learn how to use it, and we do some beginner games at the university to get new players started, here I use Owlbear if needed, because the players don't have to make accounts. So most hours currently Roll20, but I am agnostic and switch it up, depending on what the other have or use.

2023-06-26 11:18:40 +0000 UTCFantasy Grounds user for a decade plus who, about a month ago, moved to Foundry exclusively once I found out how to automate everything (rolls, damage, auras you name it). Absolutely loved Fantasy Grounds but the interface just hasn't evolved where my players and I want it. With the right mods, Foundry's interface is just an amazing product (albeit with a cost to the DM for the premium mods).
2023-06-25 15:23:19 +0000 UTCI've played a LOT on Roll20. FoundryVTT blows it away if you want a full featured VTT with a modern interface. Fantasy Grounds had way too high of a price point for me. Owlbear Rodeo, though, is my go to. Super intuitive, very game board like. Plus their dev team is awesome

2023-06-25 14:46:16 +0000 UTCI started Roll20 back in 2013 and invested into it.
2023-06-25 01:42:02 +0000 UTCI mostly used roll20 but i have bought Fantasy Grounds Unlimited and Foundry VTT
2023-06-25 00:33:32 +0000 UTCAlso, I liked the idea of paying one time for the VTT and not paying a subscription. I also like one nice option that I don't think any of the others even offer yet. That is the ability to share any player section of any of the books without sharing the rest of the book. So if you have a module that you would like to share the player section of and don't want them peeking at the rest of the book, you can do that in Fantasy Grounds with a simple check box.
