Took some pictures of my nuggets -- mom is a red mini husky and was dumped at my local shelter with her babies and sister. I usually try to avoid fostering puppies (they're a lot of work and I love the company of senior dogs), but I offered to be a last resort for them. No one else stepped up to the plate, so here they are with me! They're about 2 weeks old right now and I'll have them until they're at least 8 weeks! The white pups are girls (well, one is more like cream), the brown pups are boys <3

Little known fact: Pregnant moms and nursing litters are at risk for euthanasia because puppies are EXPENSIVE and shelters are low on funds and space. Puppies have to be together for at least 8 weeks, which is costly to the already overcrowded shelters. Plus, newborns are too young for vaccinations and could be exposed to deadly diseases and fleas in a shelter. Volunteer with your local rescue to foster a litter. Save a life— or a bunch of them!
