Quicky update

Good day all! Time for a quicky update. I've been focusing on nothing but getting the next Halloween themed standalone build ready on time for this month. This year I've been regularly missing my end of the month release schedule and a Halloween themed release is NOT something you can do that with. It's like releasing a Christmas game in January.

So at the cost of pretty much everything else I've been going at it and it looks like I'll be able to release it right on time. That's about the important stuff I wanted to let you know. Next up is blabbering, with minor spoilers(?) for the upcoming build.

As you'll have noticed I always try to make the standalone Halloween games slightly more demanding of the player. Part of that is because a short standalone game is less frustrating if you'll get stuck at a point than when you're already three books in. Also because if I mess something up it's easier for me to fix so I'm less worried about bugs.

So this Spooky times will only re-use a small part of the original "Spooky times 4". I abandoned that one and never released it in 2024 (because I couldn't finish it in time). My original plan for that Spooky-times was to have Sokka be locked up in a tower by naked woman covered in sheets (fake ghosts) who were going to sacrifice Yue to the moon goddess. You, playing as Sokka would have to escape and rescue Yue.

Not a super bad idea imo, but I've pretty much already done that in the earlier Spookytimes before....(being a prisoner and having to escape with or without a girl). SO when I read a comment pointing out that fact, I had to agree and thus I scrapped most of what I had done before and have been doing something slightly different. It's more like being a detective now and based on finding/using/combining items. The items focused direction isn't new, but you can drag things around from your inventory and such now instead of only clicking on them. I figured only giving people menu options would make it feel boring.

That dragging system did give me some problems though since i didn't properly think it through at the start and in the end I had to brute force things and make it all ugly in the code itself. Buuuut it's a short story so it's not too bad. As long as it works! I've been having an unholy amount of fun with it though because I can add more little hidden stuff and I'm looking forward to when you'll be able to play it.

Btw. I'll also release it sometime in early November to the lowest tier members. I don't want to release a Halloween themed thingy waaay later, but everyone else should get it on or before the 31st.

Ps. I totally fucked myself when I thought I had made a backup and just happened to miss one (very important)file while doing so. Of course that's the day when I actually needed the backup(it always is) which ended up in me having to redo a day's work. Regardless I'm really happy with what I have so far.... and now I suddenly realize I haven't tested it on actual android hardware instead of just software.... oh boy.... I'm certain it'll be alright.

And that's it for this update. I still have a lot to do so I'll quickly try and check the message in my inbox(quiet scared voice: there are so many!) before going back to the grinding stone again!

The gallery seems to be on the back burner as far as I know, you can always make saves when you find a scene you particularly like! Although I understand that defeats the purpose of a gallery sometimes.

I'm thankful, great full, and greedy for more FET! Both versions sound interesting to me. If people didn't like the original idea, you can just send it to me. I won't complain. Lol
