[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.47]

Hello, I'm Satoh.

Summer has flown by again and the temperature has gradually settled down.

The sun is setting earlier and earlier, and the autumn insects are chirping in the evenings.

The end of summer always makes me feel a bit lonely, but I am working hard to complete the game.

I am continuing to adjust the balance of the game and fix bugs while having testers continuously play test the game.

A game is a complex combination of small numbers that can be made interesting or boring with the slightest change in a single element.

It is like a small universe when you consider the tens of thousands or hundreds of millions of combinations that interact with each other.

Especially since this game has a very large number of elements, with over 200 companions, over 2,000 skills,

and nearly 500 types of equipment, it is difficult to create a balance using only logic and calculations.

I am working on the finishing touches to create an exciting balance, while thinking about the sensations I have gained from the many games I have played.


With the cooperation of the programmer, the mini-games that follow Bouncing Slime(the undressing breakout) are steadily being completed.

I hope that you will be able to enjoy this game not only for its RPG elements, but also for its various other elements.

As for my current schedule, if the production work continues to progress smoothly, I plan to release the game in the end of October.

I will let you know the exact date when it is decided, so please be patient.


In this letter, I would like to introduce a new minigame and a new monster.

This is one of the mini games, "SWEET CATCHER".

It is a very simple crane game where you catch the prize by moving it right and up.





Unlike other mini-games that can be played for free, this one can be played for 500G per play,

and various consumables and decorative equipment can be obtained as prizes.

There are some decorative equipment that can only be obtained through this mini-game, so please take a break from your adventures and try it out.



This is one of the new monsters, Deep Angler.

This monster is based on the motif of an anglerfish and carries a small light spirit as pseudo-bait.

It is a unique monster with a fishing motif in its fighting style.

I drew a "Autumn Good Sleep Special"-themed special illustration for you.



From the slime monsters, this is Slime.

It is the standard weakest monster in JRPGs.

It can change its slime quality at will, so it will make a comfortable cuddle pillow.


Slime is a monster that I am very attached to because it was the very first monster I drew.

I started by drawing Slime and then Slime Prince to test displaying a large symbolic monster.

At that time, the guidelines for the overall design style of the game and the monster's head and body balance were solidified.

Now that I am nearing completion of the second game, I am deeply moved when I think back to those days.

Hi Satoh! It has been wonderful to follow you during this journey, it's been a long 4 years and as a fan of the first game I cannot wait to play the sequel so soon from now. Please continue the good work as you are leading in this specific category with the other games not coming close! I do have a quick question, Will there be a handbook/in-game guide at all? During the first game there were many secrets I was unable to find until I heard a person achieve something on an obscure forum. Unfortunately due to the nature of the game it doesn't get much coverage on Youtube/twitch so finding help to 100% the game and experience everything it has to offer is challenging. Hints or help after the first playthrough would be much appreciated so that we can enjoy everything you do :D I hope the release goes smoothly for you and I wish you all the success, I'm sure your passion on this project will be rewarded by the community. I'm so looking forwards to playing this amazing sequel! I adore the first game and still replay it to this day, and this update along with all the others makes me so excited. Good luck with all of the final touches! ^^ Also, Deep Angler is such a cool idea for a monster, and his design is so cool and cute at the same time. Can't wait to meet him, the new companions, and all the other monsters too!
