[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.36]

Hello, I'm Satoh.

In October, there are still a few extremely hot days of nearly 30 degrees Celsius here and there, making me realize how unusual the weather has been lately,

but at night I am beginning to feel the autumn-like chill in the air.


This is the 36th issue of the Letter, and three years have passed in the blink of an eye.

Since I have increased the amount of time spent on each picture, map, and other work by more than 1.5 times compared to the previous game, and added new elements,

I thought that I would be able to complete this game in 3 to 4 years, compared to 2 years for the former game, when I started development.

I think I will be able to complete the game within that time frame.

It will be difficult to release the game by the end of 2022, but I do not think it will take more than 4 years of development, so please wait for a while longer.

I have finished creating most of the weapon and armor settings, the skill sets for the monsters, and setting them up as enemies, as well as the boss battle for the final stratum.

I am now starting work on the final battle.

Then, I will complete the ending scene and the ending illustrations, and the general framework will be complete.


After that, as in the first project, I will create factors for after the second playthrough.

There is still work to be done, such as adding more mini-game stages and drawing more costumes for the protagonist etc,

which is like building a large tree trunk and then adding branches and leaves to it.


Like the first game, I plan to continue updating and perfecting this game after its release,

but I believe that the first time you play a game is the most memorable and most valuable for players,

so in order to make that one-time first play a good one, I want to make sure that what I launch is something that I myself am satisfied with.


In game production, the final touches are the crucial moment, so I will continue working until completion without letting up.


In this letter, I would like to introduce two new monsters.

This is one of the new monsters, Angel Slime.

This monster has both angel and slime races,

and its design is based on the motif of Cupid.



Here is another one of the new monsters, Cherubim.

The name of the angels comes from the rank of them, and Cherubim is a higher rank, close to that of seraph.

I made a unique silhouette with a large sphere floating in the air.

From Halloween monsters, this is Ghost.

He is the perfect monster for this season.


Ghost is a monster that expresses its character in a way that is unique to this game:

at first, it is completely covered with cloth all over, and when it is torn down to medium or large, you can see what it looks like inside.

All of the Halloween ghost monsters have a mischievous personality that loves to surprise people and cause mischief.

Every day at the pumpkin house is like a costume party, and it looks like a lot of fun.

Three years have passed really quickly.

Even in such a situation, the results of the production that I have continued to work on day in and day out have been steadily accumulating, and the completion of the project is gradually becoming visible.

It takes a mind-boggling amount of work to create a full-length RPG, and it is quite difficult to maintain motivation,

but this time, thanks to your warm support, I have been able to continue working on this game unceasingly.
