[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.35]

Hello, I'm Satoh.

The heat wave has settled down, and some nights have recently begun to feel chilly.

Another hot summer has passed in the blink of an eye, and autumn is approaching.

Although the heat of midsummer is hard, I always feel a little sad at the end of summer.

I have finished drawing all the new monsters.

As I mentioned in my previous letter, there will be 104 new monsters in this game, surpassing the 103 in the former game.

Of course, all the monsters from the former game will also appear, so you will be able to make friends with a total of 207 monsters.

At first, I was thinking of doing fewer of them, but this time I wanted to pack plenty of new monsters into the final stratum,

and I came up with a lot of interesting motifs, which I enjoyed designing.

Like the former game, they are unique not only in appearance, but also in their skill sets and stats,

so please look forward to battling them as both enemies and friends.


I have also finished creating the maps for the final stratum.

I think it conveys a feeling like you are facing the last dungeon.

Now I have finished making the maps for the main part of the dungeons.

I had a hard time thinking of the gimmicks and maps for each stratum, but I think they all turned out to be unique and good dungeons.

Since dungeon exploration is the main focus of this game, I put as much effort into dungeon creation as I did in monster design.

Since the theme of this game is to explore dungeons in the "outside world," I tried my best to make the game feel more like an adventure in various places than in the former game.


Next, I will make the weapons and armors for the final stratum, then make the skill sets for the monsters, set up the enemy monsters, make the battles for the symbol monsters and boss,

and then finish the story part and make the ending part to complete the main part of the game.

There is still a lot of work to be done, so I will not let up.


In this letter, I would like to introduce two new monsters.

This is one of the new monsters, Balor.

This motif is characterized by the power of the demon eye, which can defeat its enemies simply by opening its eyes.

I tried to create a devilish, free and mysterious design for this monster.



This is one of the new monsters, Reaper.

Rather than a powerful reaper, he is more like a foot soldier who has been sent out to collect souls.

Using the power of dark spirits, he has the ability to transform shadows into clothing and weapons.

This time, with sincere gratitude for you, supporters,

I drew a "Long Night of Autumn Special"-themed special illustration for you.



From the spirit monsters, this is Dark Spirit.

This low-tension monster is perfect for the calm season.


Dark Spirit wears shadows at will and can melt into the shadows and disappear.

He can appear and disappear anywhere.

When paired spirits of light are in close proximity, they seem to go together very well, as their light and shadow become more intense.

I am a little emotional to see the completion of the project little by little.
