[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.26]

Hello, I'm Satoh.

There are only 11 days left in this year.

It has really flown by in the midst of the virus disaster as before,

but I have managed to continue my production work for another year.

With the support of all of you, I will keep my spirits up and continue to work towards the completion of the game.

After finishing the 4th stratum part, I spent a bit of time completing the undies vending machine and getting various parts of the game in shape,

and finally I've been working on designing monsters for the 5th stratum.

I found myself designing nearly 80 monsters for 2, and that is getting close to 100.

I still don't know how many monsters I'll end up with, but when I look at the monsters I've accumulated,

it makes me happy to realize that the production is steadily progressing.

If I combine them with the monsters from the previous game, it will end up with around 200 monsters.

I hope that you will enjoy organizing and battling in more diverse combinations.


The fifth stratum, like the first three, will incorporate themes from the previous game as well as new themes,

and I will try to create something that will be both nostalgic and fresh.

It's a little sad to see the end of the monster designs,

but I will continue to work hard to draw them as cute as possible until the end.


In this letter, I would like to introduce two new monsters.

This is one of the new monsters, Red Oni.

This monster is a counterpart to Blue Oni that appeared in the previous game.

He's a powerhouse with a big axe, but he seems to be more fashion conscious than Blue Oni.



This is another new monster, Chagama Tanuki.

This monster is based on a Japanese fairy tale, and protects himself with a large tea kettle armor.

As he looks, he will be a defense type monster.

This time, with sincere gratitude for you, supporters,

I drew a "Midst of Winter"-themed special illustration for you.



Continuing from the last letter, here is the Ice Spirit from the ice monsters.

This one is also a cool monster, perfect for winter.


This monster is a counterpart to Fire Spirit that I drew before,

but this one has ice on its legs while Fire Spirit has flames on its arms.

The spirits of fire, ice, wind, and thunder have a vaguely Japanese feel to them, and the ice spirit wears a transparent feathered robe.

Spirit monsters are designed based on a common theme of "chest core, crest, and attribute effects"

and these monsters are fun to expand the same theme into separate designs for different attributes.
