[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.2]

Hi, I'm Satoh.

Thank you for your continuous support. I'm very grateful.

Time flies! It's almost the end of this year.

I launched "L2D vol.2" and began to work on the sequel of the RPG "SHOWTIMExMONSTERS".

After launching SHOWTIMExMONSTERS, it took a quite while before work on the sequel could begin.

Not only I was enjoying making the Art Book and Live 2D games,

I put all my ideas into the first one, so I needed some time to think before I could start on the sequel.

After all, if I was going to make a sequel, I wanted to make it more interesting than the first game.

I've been thinking about how to add something extra without changing the fun of the original.

I'm now working on one of the two main additional game systems of the sequal while drawing new characters.

I'm planning to add two game systems which add extra fun to the joy which 1 has.

After the basic specifications that are the foundation of the game are completed, I'll begin working on designing maps and monsters.

Just like in the previous letter, let me introduce you two of the new main characters.

He is "Eight", one of the main characters of the sequel.

The former main characters are "Inn keeper", "shop manager", "gate keeper". Their motif was town people.

This time, the new main character's motif is adventurers.

Eight is a character with the warrior theme, and is more athletic than the protagonist.

He is also one of the main characters, and his name is "Reo".

His theme is an agile thief,

and he looks like a mix of monster and human.

He is a disciple of Watt (from the first game), and he aims to be a treasure hunter.

This time, with sincere gratitude for you, supporters,

I drew a Christmas-themed special illustration for you.

Gemini, the snow spirit.

I gave them special Christmas colored outfits.

I came up with the idea of this character before I began working on SHOWTIMExMONSTERS.

I was just imaging the game I wanted to make back then.

With the cuteness of sharing one muffler with two boys as the main idea,

By joining two different types of boys, each other will complement each other, further amplifying the cuteness.

I'm satisfied with that design.
