2025-08-09 08:11:23 +0000 UTCBirdwatching is such a unique hobby in that you can do it while doing other things, walking, boating, beach days, etc. And it opens up an extra level of curiosity, like “huh, I’ve only seen great blue herons in/near the water or flying but there’s a bunch up in those pine trees. I wonder why?” Turns out they breed in colonies and nest in trees for that. I’m a big fan of fiber arts/crafts. Crochet, knitting, loom knitting, etc. The cost and amount of attention and/or skill vary widely, but some are just enough to fill the mind gap for me when watching tv or a movie, it’ll keep me seated and off of my phone, which can be a struggle.
