The Cheney-maxxing strategy didn't pay off

Great analysis <3 I think part of the reason for the right pivot MIGHT be because, with the war in Gaza, the left vote (or the left vote that might bail on the Dems) is considered irredeemably lost.

Courting the GOP & unaffiliated Center, having already lost the Progressive (?) Left which isn’t going to vote Blue no matter who… so the Campaign panders to the Never Trumpers and Lincoln Project folks and Hawkish Dems. A “LETHAL” combination !!

Harris is audibly high in those clips. We are truly in the advanced stages of decay if our choices are between a dementia patient and a woman who spends every waking moment barred out.

They're making decisions based on what makes their cocktail parties easier to organize. Elections are an afterthought

The view: what’s the difference between you and Biden? Kamala Harris: I plan on having a Republican in my cabinet!

They've got the Greens, the PSL, and an assortment of indies to protest under. In most states, progressives are free to vote that way knowing the outcome is predetermined.

Perhaps Dems aren't blind to losing votes by going right; the move is their version of the Right's explicit voter suppression. Whereas Republicans block voters to shrink the number of relevant constituents, the Dems accomplish the same by cultivating cynicism in November's choices; if there's no daylight between parties, then why vote? Simply toss a few pandering platitudes to placate old-timey Dem voters, while welcoming with open arms the neocons of old (the party, and those neocons, agree on the war machine, and will vote to preserve their privileges). Which is why dismissing the left isn't an oversight, but a conscious choice; courting the progressives entails policy changes, and accountability, whereas courting alienated neocons, and traditional Republicans, costs you nothing (assuming you plan to shrink the voting pool to a self-affirming puddle). Electorally speaking, Republicans were savvy to shrink the viable voting base, because it means there are fewer un-likeminded people to deal with. The Dems are doing the same, just in a subtler way.

Harris is banking on the fact that anyone who considers themselves a progressive has no where to go to vote. They are trapped. In Harris’ world they have to and will always vote blue or that the amount of progressives are so low that according to Schumer any progressive votes they lose will be made up by moderate Republican suburbanites. This is why we all MUST vote in droves and vote GREEN.

Chris Rime

Banger as always. I'm beginning to just enter a rage any time I hear the media either fail or refuse to ask the OBVIOUS follow up questions. These questions are not just being asked by kaffiyeh wearing leftist - they are questions on the mind of millions of Americans.

Jonathan Lones

can confirm most Dem decisions are made via this rightward group-think logic yall are describing. like to them, flaunting the Cheney endorsements is ofc something you do. you’d be called stupid for even questioning that decision in those spaces. some things are just true, because they say so
