Skyrim VR
Added 2018-04-05 02:01:19 +0000 UTCThis game is popular after 7 years from first release and even recent VR edition of it is highly popular, as for VR title. There are many doubts about worth of making graphic mod for it, different opinions, but owners of VR helmets seems mostly positive about this idea. Maybe this game will push other game studios to make ports for their old games and bring VR to masses, I hope so. I understand that modded game is played a lot even now, but there is special type of mods, which probably most welcome in VR, but require SKSE to run, but this tool is incompatible with VR version and because Bethesda patching game relatively often, it is annyoing to do changes for SKSE developers after each patch. So, there is a chance, that people will play in VR version and forget it for long long time, keep hope SKSE VR will be published one day. I never worked with VR, know so little about it, there are some reasons to think that modding it will be much more complicated task than Skyrim SE, even tweaking values in ENBSeries editor must be not like it is now via mouse. Also this is very costly for me, VR need high performance videocard to not have nausea, while the prices are so high "thanks" to miners, helmets themselves in my country costs around 630$ for Oculus CV1+Touch, around 720$ for HTC Vive and around 600$ for WMR Lenovo Explorer. If modding require them all to be purchased and no cross compatibility, that is too much for me, seriously. Even to afford one of them is a problem for me, have no practical use for VR, except to play OpenLara (TombRaider) and No One Lives Forever 2 in VR, because I almost dont play games any more. The guy in e-mail said that he would help with hardware, but I hate to be owned something and become very stressed working hard. This situation make me feel like some usual job which instead of payment give me things I dont need much and amount of time spent is under big doubt if an idea worth it even if i try to sell used hardware later. Well, I am paranoid sometime, maybe VR is really fun and will force me to do modding for something else too, I dont know. Also fear that VR helmet will be broken too soon, they are not designed for extreme usage, but in the games which I modify, spending too many hours, so display matrix can overburn or simply break up its wires or plastic. I am out of ideas what to do.
