[WOTD] Satanichia redesign - Part 3: Outfits and wallpapers

This is the third and final post in the redesign process of Satanichia, as well as the conclusion of the redesigns for the main girls. It’s been a long journey full of challenges and doubts, but I’m extremely satisfied and excited about the final results. That said, as I mentioned in the previous post, this doesn’t mean there won’t be new secondary characters or additional outfits.
Throughout the remake’s development, I plan to add new characters and content that wasn’t in the original version. However, I also want to showcase progress before any of that content or those characters make their “first appearance” in any version.

In short, I’ll continue making posts while working on the remake, perhaps to show progress in the story, new mechanics, or new characters.

Without further ado, I present the new outfits of the Queen of the Underworld, Satanichia.

Defining her outfits and hairstyles was a very challenging process, considering her new appearance and personality. The main idea was for Satanichia to have her own moments within the Underworld, where her appearance would reflect her hierarchy and power. On the other hand, if the player decides to interact with her in the Dream Plane, Satanichia will sport more “revealing” and less intimidating outfits, designed for that type of more intimate and introspective setting.

Additionally, I decided to create a "human" version of Satanichia. I like the idea that she could have interactions that occur in Clyde’s mind, appearing in “reality” but being visible and audible only to him. I’m still not entirely sure whether to include this feature, especially since I feel another villainess might have a similar power. It’s something I’ll decide later on.

First, let me show you the hairstyles I designed for her. In one of them, I tried to recapture the twintails style from her original design.

Now, let’s move on to the outfits! The first outfits are designed for moments when Satanichia is in the Underworld, showcasing her authority and power as queen.

The next ones are meant for the Dream Plane, a space where Clyde can “connect” with Satanichia, learn more about her, and attempt to understand her intentions or philosophy.

Finally, here are the outfits corresponding to her human appearance. As you can see, her “cursed” or “corrupted” eye is always covered in some way. This was a deliberate detail to symbolize that Satanichia isn’t truly taking on a physical form but rather disguising herself or playing at being human within Clyde’s mind.

Este es el tercer y último post del proceso de rediseño de Satanichia, así como también el cierre de los rediseños de las chicas principales. Ha sido un largo camino lleno de retos y dudas, pero los resultados finales me tienen muy satisfecho e ilusionado. Eso sí, como mencioné en el post anterior, esto no significa que no habrá nuevos personajes secundarios u outfits adicionales.
A lo largo del desarrollo del remake planeo ir añadiendo personajes y contenido nuevo que no estaba en la versión original, aunque también quiero mostrar avances antes de que ese contenido o personaje haga su "primera aparición" en alguna de las versiones.

En resumen, que haré más posts mientras trabajo en el remake, tal vez para mostrar avances en la historia, las nuevas mecánicas, o nuevos personajes.

Sin más preámbulos, les presento los nuevos outfits de la reina del Inframundo, Satanichia.

Definir sus outfits y peinados fue un proceso muy complicado, considerando su nueva apariencia y personalidad. La idea principal era que Satanichia tuviera momentos propios dentro del Inframundo, donde su apariencia reflejara su jerarquía y poder. Por otro lado, si el jugador decide interactuar con ella en el Plano Onírico, Satanichia lucirá outfits más "reveladores" y menos intimidantes, diseñados para ese tipo de ambiente más intimo e introspectivo.

Además, decidí crear una versión "humana" de Satanichia. Me gusta la idea de que pueda tener interacciones que ocurran en la mente de Clyde, apareciendo en la "realidad", pero siendo visible y audible únicamente para él. Aún no estoy completamente seguro de si incluir esta característica, especialmente porque considero que otra de las villanas podría tener un poder similar. Es algo que decidiré más adelante.

Primero, les mostraré los peinados que diseñé para ella. En uno de ellos intenté recuperar el estilo de coletas del diseño original.

¡Ahora pasemos a los outfits! Los primeros outfits están diseñados para los momentos en los que Satanichia esté en el Inframundo, mostrando su autoridad y poderío como reina.

Los siguientes están pensados para el Plano Onírico, un espacio donde Clyde puede "conectar" con Satanichia, conocer más sobre ella e intentar comprender sus intenciones o filosofía.

Finalmente, les presento los outfits correspondientes a su apariencia humana. Como pueden notar, siempre hay algo cubriendo su ojo "maldito" o "corrompido". Esto es un detalle que hice para recordar que realmente Satanichia no está tomando una forma física como tal, si no más bien se está disfrazando, o juega a ser una humana dentro de la mente de Clyde.
