[WOTD] Erika redesign - Part 2: Presentation

Welcome to part 2 of Erika’s redesign process. In this post, I’ll be sharing her stunning new design and talking a bit about the new plans I have for her and her development throughout the WOTD remake.

As always, I like to start by discussing the idea behind the original design and recalling what has happened with the character so far in the story.

Erika is probably one of the main girls I’ve developed the least in-depth up until now. Moreover, I didn’t have much of a backstory planned for her, her development mainly focused on her unique health condition. However, I’ve been writing and planning new things for her in the remake, and I’ll share more details about that later in this post.

In her original design, I wanted Erika to have the look of the "ideal sexy nurse," achieving a balance between provocative and elegant. Her signature color is orange, so I combined her blonde hair with reddish eyes to give her that distinctive touch.
Additionally, Erika comes from a family dedicated to medicine and healthcare, which explains her habit of keeping herself in shape.

And now, without further ado, I present to you the new Erika!

Her body now looks not only sexier and more voluptuous but also more athletic and slender.

I’ve refined her hands and fingers to make them look finer and more feminine, and I decided to give her longer nails. Erika will usually have her nails painted white, though we’ll see her with other colors in different outfits.

I’ve also added a small beauty mark to her face. Can you spot it? It’s near her mouth! It’s almost imperceptible, I made it that way intentionally since Jill and Bonnie also have beauty marks, but theirs are more noticeable.

As you can see, I kept the idea of reflecting the color orange through red and yellow tones in her hair and eyes. If you look closely (or zoom in), you’ll notice her pupils now have a subtle orange tint.

Without a doubt, the resemblance between Erika and Asagi is now more evident. I’d like to develop their relationship in more depth, portraying Erika as a mentor or confidant for Asagi, as well as a workout partner.

As for Erika and Clyde, I love how they look together ❤ They give me the impression and vibes of being the ideal couple, very compatible, and the idea that they could make excellent parents.

Within the story, let’s remember that this is Jill’s initial plan: to "pair" Erika with Clyde. Although Jill is quite jealous, she sees her best friend as the perfect partner for Clyde. Like with the other girls, I want Erika and Clyde’s relationship to develop in a more natural and slow-paced manner.
So far, their relationship already had this dynamic, but I think I can make it even better by giving Erika a more mature and deeper personality and development.

An important change I plan to implement is giving Erika a new passion: photography. This new hobby will have its own development and will appear in various scenes and contexts.

I’d also like Erika to have some basic knowledge of vehicles. This was already hinted at in earlier versions of the game when there’s a possibility of Erika driving Clyde home in her car. One scene I imagine is Erika and Clyde deciding to "run away" together for a day, driving to a remote spot or down an empty highway where Erika teaches Clyde how to drive.

Of course, her health condition (the inability to get pregnant) will remain a fundamental aspect of her development. I plan to address it in a way that it’s present both in her individual route and in the harem route, ensuring it has a significant impact on the narrative.

Bienvenidos a la parte 2 del proceso de rediseño de Erika. En este post les mostraré su nuevo y exquisito diseño, además de hablarles un poco sobre los nuevos planes que tengo para ella y su desarrollo a lo largo del remake de WOTD.

Como siempre, me gusta empezar comentando la idea detrás del diseño original, así como recordar qué sucede con el personaje hasta ahora en la historia.

Erika es, probablemente, una de las chicas principales que menos he logrado desarrollar a profundidad hasta ahora. Además, realmente no tenía mucho trasfondo planeado para ella; su desarrollo se centraba principalmente en su particular condición de salud. Sin embargo, he estado escribiendo y planificando cosas nuevas para ella en el remake, y les contaré más detalles sobre esto más adelante en este post.

En su diseño original, quería que Erika tuviera el aspecto de la "enfermera sexy ideal", logrando un equilibrio entre lo provocativo y lo elegante. Su color distintivo es el naranja, así que combiné el cabello rubio con ojos rojizos para darle ese toque característico.
Además, Erika proviene de una familia dedicada a la medicina y la salud, lo que explica su hábito de cuidar su figura.

¡Y ahora, sin más preámbulo, les presento a la nueva Erika!

Su cuerpo ahora luce no solo más sexy y voluptuoso, sino también más atlético y esbelto.

He refinado sus manos y dedos para que se vean más finos y femeninos, y decidí añadir uñas más largas. Usualmente, Erika llevará sus uñas pintadas de blanco, aunque en diferentes outfits podremos verla con otros colores.

También he agregado un pequeño lunar en su rostro. ¿Pueden encontrarlo? ¡Está cerca de su boca! Es casi imperceptible, lo hice así intencionalmente, ya que Jill y Bonnie también tienen lunares, pero más visibles.

Como pueden observar, mantuve la idea de reflejar el color naranja mediante los tonos rojos y amarillos en su cabello y ojos. Si miran con atención (o hacen zoom), notarán que sus pupilas tienen ahora un ligero toque naranja.

Sin dudas, el parecido entre Erika y Asagi es ahora más evidente. Me gustaría desarrollar más en profundidad su relación, mostrando a Erika como una mentora o confidente para Asagi, así como compañera de ejercicios.

En cuanto a Erika y Clyde, adoro cómo se ven juntos ❤ Me transmiten la sensación de ser una pareja ideal, con mucha compatibilidad, y la idea de que podrían ser unos excelentes padres.

Dentro de la historia, recordemos que ese es el plan inicial de Jill: "juntar" a Erika con Clyde. Aunque Jill es bastante celosa, ve en su mejor amiga a la persona perfecta para ser pareja de Clyde. Al igual que con las demás chicas, quiero que la relación entre Erika y Clyde se desarrolle de una manera más natural y lenta. Hasta ahora, su relación ya fluía de esta forma, pero creo que puedo hacerla aún mejor, dándole a Erika una personalidad y desarrollo más maduro y profundo.

Un cambio importante que planeo implementar es añadir una nueva pasión para Erika: la fotografía. Este nuevo hobby tendrá su propio desarrollo y aparecerá en diversas escenas y contextos.

Además, me gustaría que Erika tenga un conocimiento básico sobre vehículos. Esto ya se había insinuado en versiones anteriores del juego, cuando existe la posibilidad de que Erika lleve a Clyde a casa en su auto. Una escena que imagino sería que Erika y Clyde decidan "escaparse" juntos por un día, conduciendo hacia un lugar remoto o por una carretera poco transitada, donde Erika le enseñe a Clyde a manejar.

Por supuesto, su condición de salud (la imposibilidad de quedar embarazada) seguirá siendo un tema fundamental en su desarrollo. Planeo manejarlo de manera que esté presente tanto en su ruta individual como en la ruta harem, asegurándome de que tenga un impacto significativo en la narrativa.
