How did OG ujungs deal with losing chinity all at once? NOT WELL

Now that I think about it, even Ujungs switch between pronunciations too! They had a large Chinese fanbase back when they were still active in the group, so many fans used the Chinese pronunciation too. Personally, I stick with the Korean pronunciation just because it’s easier. 😊 You can check out this video for reference: - 5:08 - Cheng Xiao's Korean Pronunciation - 5:18 - Xuanyi and Meiqi's Korean Pronunciation - 7:41 - they say their say their names in Chinese https://youtu.be/PhiIRym2KSw?si=jxZw-0DjQfZAFxqX

Xuanyi was the 2nd oldest before the C-line left and it doesn't make sense in my head

What version does ujung usually refer to them by? So we can choose one version to go by!

I think you guys might be right about the big group theory. WJSN was the girl group with the most members until tripleS took over that title. I think it's no coincidence that both groups are on another level of unhinged! 😂 Chengxiao, Meiqi, and Xuanyi's names are pronounced differently in Korean than in Chinese. In Chinese, Chengxiao is pronounced as Chung-shiao, Meiqi as Mei-chi, and Xuanyi as Shuen-yi. But in Korean, they are pronounced as Sung-so, Mickey, and Seon-wi, respectively. Just like how Yuqi is Yu-chi in Chinese but U-gi in Korean, and Xinyu is Shin-yu in Chinese but Shin-wi in Korean. 😝 I think it got confusing because some members call them by the Korean pronunciation while others use the Chinese pronunciation 😅 *edited to a better show how to pronounce their names

Because when the chinese members are in Korea, their names are Koreanized. So Cheng Xiao is Songso, Meiqi is Miki, and Xuanyi is Sonny.

They pronounce all the chinese members names in korean not how their name is actually pronounced in chinese. Chengxiao is pronounced like “cheng shiao” but they pronounce it “sung so”. Meiqi is pronounced like “may chi” but they pronounce it like mickey 🐭. Xuanyi is pronounced like “shuen yi” but they pronounce it like suanyi. Hope that helps🤝🏼
