Yeah chaewon and sakura were the most unexpected duo ever to be put in a group. People already suspecting sakura to be recruited somewhere.... but with chaewon ?! even crazier with yunjin ?! The shocked i had when i read the news. Chaewon kkura were probably one of the least closest pairing ever . They werent paired up ever during p48 , not living in the same house tgt so theres not much interactions between them. Now with lsf , i realized that they're more similar to each other than i thought. Similar ambitions, passion , thought process etc. Lovely to see their relationship grow.

2024-08-07 13:05:54 +0000 UTCI remember the day of this drive in concert so vividly cause twitter was absolutely bonkers. new hairstyles, no one knew which member was which because all we had were blurry fansite pics with them wearing masks, and then later that day fansites climbing trees outside of the venue to watch the movie/concert and getting chased by security...it was a fun day. The announcement of kkura and chaewon being in a group together came gradually, yeah, it was radio silence from chaewon for months, and kkura was graduating and then returning to korea, and then rumors were circulating about chaewon also joining hybe, and then one day the pic of them with Bang PD dropped and people went crazy. And THEN people found out that yunjin would also join and it got even crazier.

Chaewon was really close with Minju, Yena, Eunbi and even Yujin while Kkura was more close with Eunbi, Nako, Hyewon and Chaeyeon. With the anticipation around IVE’s debut I guess Hybe wanted to create another strong group with IZ*ONE members in it and they made an offer to some of the most popular members in Japan which were Kkura, Minju and Chaewon. I stan both groups btw I hope this didn’t come off as shady or anything it’s just the truth 🥲 I’m explaining myself bc I know people can be a bit sensitive about this subject

2024-08-07 10:11:35 +0000 UTCWe already knew that Starship was preparing a group with annyeongz, so that wasn’t surprising. However, we definitely didn’t expect Sakura to graduate from AKB and return to Korea so quickly, though she might not have if she hadn’t received an offer from Hybe. One of the biggest question marks for us leading up to the disbandment was Eunbi and Chaewon. We weren’t sure if Woollim wanted to add them to Rocket Punch or make them pursue solo careers or even make a new group around Chaewon. But in the end, Chaewon received an offer from Hybe and left Woollim immediately 😂 To answer your question, when the rumors were going around, I was surprised that Sakura and Chaewon would be the ones that end up in the same group out of all the members. Minju and Chaewon made sense, but she unfortunately didn’t go through with the offer… Anyway it’s all good now ❤️ Before their contract ended, all of their companies had a meeting for a possible extension. However, a company did not agree. They didn’t specify, but we all know it was Starship 😭 It’s kinda similar to what happened with Kep1er, except instead of annyeongz leaving and the others extending they all disbanded together when it was time

2024-08-07 09:43:33 +0000 UTCI wasnt around for when lsf was announced but i have heard that some wizones were pretty surprised by chaewon and kkura being put into the same group. Ive seen people guess that hybe wanted them because they were popular in japan. Its pretty interesting though how Chaewon talked about it in an interview a little while back and said that in izone her and sakura werent that close and that apparently the image she had of kkura then is quite different to now.

2024-08-07 09:33:31 +0000 UTCI don’t know if it’s the same in Korea, but in Japan there are group dates where one boy and girl who know each other will set it up and bring for example 4 friends each and it’ll be like a group blind date, and this is fairly normal (maybe not as much nowadays) even for students, so when they were talking about the blind date that’s what I was imagining. I still get really emotional about the fact that izone’s time got cut short and most of the time they never even got to do in person performances. They weren’t able to do a tour like they wanted to and they couldn’t say goodbye in person 😭 I vividly remember when the member introduction videos came out for Le sserafim and I barely recognized chaewon cuz her whole style looked SO different from izone
