Early monsters: Jujubee
Added 2018-03-24 06:57:34 +0000 UTCCreatures I created in my pre-teens are flooding back to me lately, so I thought I'd share some of them.
I worked on a lot of worlds with my cousin, who was obsessed for a while with the term "Juju" and "jujubee." Neither of us even knew what they meant, they just sounded "funny" to us.
He envisioned creatures called Jujus who were a lot like the Jawas from Star Wars.
I envisioned them instead as like the Isz from The Maxx, but I gave them Jack Skellington faces and the same "feeding spike" on their head as the Brain Bug from Starship Troopers.
I really wasn't all that creative back then.
These beings were energetic, chaotic tinkerers, kind of like how other settings envision goblins.
