Love this format! Especially for a show like Squid Game, where there's so many different themes and details. Agree with everything you said about this ep. When I first watched it, I got SO heated at the line the pink guard said, "They were simply eliminated for not following the rules of the game," because it reminded me SO much of the irl rhetoric of "if you follow the rules of society i.e. get a job, work hard" then there's no reason you should be suffering." Or the converse, "If you are poor/suffering, then it's YOU who didn't follow the rules and therefore you deserve it." Both the irl attitude and the pink guard's statement are frustrating, because the "rules" of both Squid Game AND society are rigged. Systemic injustices are very present, though often invisible to the privileged.

This is why the broker mentioned geting them into china first through the north korean border, and then getting them to south korea after. However, this is still extremely hard to do because china sends North Korean defectors back to north korea if caught,,once on south korean soil though you’re protected.
