He has been highly suspicious of San Lang all along. He just doesn’t care. He has not judged him. And he might baby girl his way along, but don’t forget that he is a god of war. His heavenly powers are mostly sealed away right now, but you saw him kill that demon in the flashback in episode 1 or 2, and that was without any godly powers. There are blink and you miss it moments when he’s used unbelievably fast martial arts (e,g, disarming the sand puppet).

It has a bit more action but also supernatural crime solving, it's also gay, and it is written by the same author (the novels I mean)!

He wears bandages to hide the cursed shackles that he got following his first two banishments. They are used to seal a god's spiritual energy. When he was first banished they sealed his energy away but he managed to ascend a second time so they had to seal it again with a second shackle. It's also why he always needs other gods to lend him spiritual power and why he can't really wield spiritual weapons.

2024-04-07 06:46:30 +0000 UTCFun fact: when Hua Cheng talks to Xie Lian the subtitles always say just "Lian" but since the beginning Hua Cheng has been actually calling him "gege" which is (to my understanding) kinda like korean "hyung". It's kinda funny bc to Xie Lian they just met like a day ago and Hua Cheng is already acting like they are super close lmao
