Even up till the latest chapter in the manga, this is still the most beautiful backstory in the entire series.... You remember the first 2 EPs? Japanese Football always force players to abandon everything else and PLAY AS A TEAM. Sae didn't want to be mean to Rin, but he quickly realize that the ideology limits Rin's potential.... (Rin used to say HOT SPOT and stuff in this EP -> He was initially an instictive player just like Shidou -> Then the system forces him to abandon that instinct).... That's why he was pissed off and BE INTENTIONALLY MEAN to fire Rin up to greater heights.
