Update 9-11-24

We hit another patch of bad luck with the plumbing repair because the repaving in our neighborhood continued on Tuesday, so we had to postpone the appointment with the plumbers and they can't come until tomorrow (Thursday). The jackhammer supposedly starts jackhammering around 7:30 in the morning. Hopefully the job can be handled in one work day. I sure hope so.

We've been checking in on the cats and got things ready for the repair job. Cleared the downstairs and threw some tarps around in case there's dust flying. Everyone's stressed and bored and it's not a great situation for getting a lot of drawing or work done. The hotel isn't great for Sarah's needs, no freezer for items she needs for her post-treatment diet. Going back to the house for the cats and the mail and whatever helps with that, but we can't stay long without plumbing.

Anyway, fingers crossed this is over tomorrow and we can start getting back into the usual routine. Not complaining, just explaining. It's been a month of a week, but it'll get sorted soon. The insult to injury though is that it looks like our insurance won't cover anything, because of "age" and "wear and tear". What the heck is insurance for, then? Unreal. If they don't cover the repair then they also won't cover the displacement. That's a double ooch, as they say in The Banana Splits (I only quote the masters). We have family helping us, hopefully this is over tomorrow and doesn't max everyone out. At least we have help, I don't know what we would be doing otherwise.

On the good side, I got a pork bun today at the Asian Market. That was cool.

Otherwise, the last book packages should go out next week if all goes well. I have three more orders to sketch and pack up. One's actually sketched in, so, almost there. A few art orders are also in the process of getting packed up. I'll probably start some more eBay auctions next week, depending on how things go. Everything's scattered right now. I feel like there was something I wanted to mention, but I can't remember. Huh.

Oh, I remember -- if you're a backer at the print level, let me know if you'd like a b&w print uploaded of Jerry from The Eltingville Club, as seen above. I drew that before the pipe broke. People seemed to like it on social media so I scanned it and I can upload it as a print if anyone wants me too. I guess I should just do it and whoever wants it can download it. I'm tired, forgive me.

More, later, soon. Hope everything's good with you folks.
