For this prompt, I went with the idea that the scene, for Gris, is going to save him, and Dwayne will be his hero in that scenario.

Also, I should clarify that this takes place rather early in Gris & Dwayne's relationship.  They’ve just moved in together, and Gris hasn’t fully opened everything up to his wolfy BF yet.

 The two boyfriends had already discussed previously what they were going to do tonight, but they went over things in detail now that the moment was here. Gris always liked when he had a clear idea of what was going on before it happened, and thankfully, Dwayne had always been understanding of the human's needs in that area.

 As they talked, Gris fell himself getting more and more eager. He always enjoyed these times with his boyfriend, being rescued from his anxious thoughts and swept up into a scene where he could destress. Even so, his fears of Dwayne leaving him persisted, nagging away from the back of his brain.

 /You’re going to mess things up tonight. You know you are./

 /Shut up. Everything is going to be fine!/

 /Are you sure?/

 There was, the question it really haunted him, and kept him awake at night.  He held constant doubt, which was awful of him, because it meant he didn’t really have faith in his boyfriend, did he? But he couldn’t help it; his brain would just keep spewing those thoughts.

 Taking a deep breath, he tried to snap himself out of it. He had to calm down. Soon, he could truly relax, and that was going to make everything ok.

 “I think we’re ready,” Dwayne said to him with a smile. “What do you think, babe?”

 Gris nodded. “Yeah, I think we’re good,” he agreed with A smile.

This was going to save him, if only for a moment. This would be his release.
