Change Cannon sounds?
Added 2020-02-27 04:54:29 +0000 UTCHey guys, this is pretty important poll, it will decide what sound style ETSMIV will go.
Since V1 ETSM used complicated sound system that allow use 4 sounds per each cannon, that system not only unique but adds "distance feel" so you know where shot is.
With V3 the system was drastically improved with sound layers, so each cannon had it's voice, pretty sure many of you learned many of them.
However system with distances was the same (close, distant, far, veryfar)
While designing new cannon layers came to conclusion and confusion at same time, making exact same sound layers as was in V3 will do the job but should it be improved or completely be scapped?
Note, this applies to cannons from 57mm to 152mm, everything below 57mm will be reworked completely(AA included)
Why is this important? Because most of the time you hear this range of calibers!
1. First variants means, sounds willbe close to V3 with little to no improvements
2. Means completely change sound style, however it will take more time to design it again

2020-09-07 17:57:53 +0000 UTCETSM4 почти как half-life, надо долго ждать... а стоп! half-life то вышла!
2020-03-24 07:22:13 +0000 UTCКак успехи?
2020-03-22 19:59:24 +0000 UTCTo be honest, although V3 is awesome, from 100mm + you will have a hard time distinguishing the gun, especially those odd ones that produces weird sounds. For example the KPZ70 is kinda strange to hear the 152 producing that sound. Although I don’t know if it’s actually accurate, I still believe more custom sounds should be made. That’s the goal though, you can temporarily put V3 sounds there and satisfy the people for a couple of month meanwhile working on the real deal
2020-02-28 16:25:19 +0000 UTCMy take is the following; V3 sounds good. But the complexity of V1 is what really sold me. What really caught my affection to your work. I prefer V1 massively over V3. And yes it may take more time - I've waited for months for this, and I can wait for longer. Your work is amazing, and if it requires more time then that's worth the wait. <3

2020-02-27 15:08:01 +0000 UTCCan u temporarily add V3 for the new engine or would you have to redo all of that. Negating the point of starting from scratch?

2020-02-27 14:00:21 +0000 UTCI see that people are getting often impatient...and in a sense I understand them. But at the same time I love when things are done correctly, without a rush. As a compromise perhaps there could have been ETSM V3 re-release at some point. But that would have distracted the progress in general I guess?
2020-02-27 07:32:52 +0000 UTCDepends on tests and samples (since in v3 all samples were already in place) so yes, it will take more time to invent bicycle again.

2020-02-27 05:38:22 +0000 UTCJust to be clear, does scrapping the sounds completely push back the dev build from this week to some time in the future?
2020-02-27 05:29:02 +0000 UTCI love your MBTs engine sounds.
2020-02-27 05:20:02 +0000 UTCNot voted, but results already obvious

2020-02-27 05:17:04 +0000 UTCI'll take quality over instant gratification, I think it's best to redesign with the new sound engine in mind anyways.
