Talkin' RiffTrax: Attack of the Super Monsters

Hey there, Traxians!

On Friday we released our first-ever anime riff, Attack of the Super Monsters. After the guys finished riffing it, they fired up the GoPro and recorded this episode of Talkin' RiffTrax. Enjoy!

Your conversation about this alone is a treat. And you revealed that this movie shifts between what model work passes for live action and cartoon - even more than did the Star Wars Holiday Special. By the way, some years ago I cured a nice girl's migraine, by turning off the overhead fluorescent lights, and putting on a DVD that has the Holiday Special [3 videotapes edition, with ads), and your RiffTrax, synchronized very well. (Don't worry, I sent you the price of the riff, as a donation.). She forgot all about her migraine, and laughed herself well.

If I have trouble again, I will. I'm good for now. Thanks for your time!

Not sure, exactly, but happy to help troubleshoot with you. Just open a ticket at https://rifftrax.com/help

I was able to download on my computer but cannot seem to figure it out on my phone? Perhaps user error, but I have been able to download the others via phone.

John Miles

Bill is absolutely right: they both detract from each other and they are both bad. Amazingly, hysterically, I've-Watched-It-Many-Times-Now bad.

Sorry about that, looks like the link was wrong. It's been fixed - please refresh and try again!

Anybody else not able to download this file?

John Miles

We watched this riff on New Year's Eve after our kid went to bed. I don't think I've laughed that hard in years.

Dana Ross

My wife was like "Why would someone make this?" And I didn't have a satisfactory answer for her.

Gabriel Ricard

Oh man.....we just cried laughing....good emergent church dig Bill! ROFL! And their lazy fat...OH MY Kevin LOL

Micah Neff

I saw this many years ago at an anime convention along with another garbage anime called Magnos. If you guys can get that one, that would be great riffing fodder.

Tracy Palma

Take Japanese men in rubber suits monster movies, add a bad Gatchaman anime ripoff, and mix in the live action sets and toys from a Jerry Anderson Marionation show, and you’ve got Attack of the Super Monsters. It’s a great riff of a wonderfully bizarre show.
