Behind the scenes | "No flight, but a landing"

I posted this on the Casters Club forum yesterday and would of course like to share it with you here as well.
A little peek behind the scenes:
In January, I had one of the coolest video shoots ever. The protagonist was my awesome cousin, who had always wanted to be in a cast video/series. Unfortunately, we don't live near each other, so it took a really long time before it finally worked out.
She's not the first member of my family to take part in a cast video or series. Even my parents have helped me several times :) And of course many friends and acquaintances, for which I am really very grateful.

For our shoot in January, friends of my cousin made it possible for us to use a real doctor's surgery as a setting. Even including ultrasound and X-ray examinations!

Due to time constraints, we shot the application of the cast and the scenes with the cast first. To do this, we turned my cousin's study into a treatment room, including a treatment table, and I put the cast on her as a "doctor's assistant".
Afterwards, we drove to a friend's beautiful apartment, where we shot a long dialog between me and my cousin. (In the series, we play two friends whose vacation together is prevented by the cast/accident). We also recorded some „cast impressions" there and took photos. We didn't have a cameraman or camerawoman in this case, so we used a small ladder on which we placed the tripod with the camera for scenes in which we could both be seen.
According to our tight schedule, the cast had to come off then (I had brought a saw of course).

Afterwards, we picked up a friend of my cousin's who was supposed to play the doctor and drove to the doctor's office together. We had a brief discussion there and went through the script together. Then we got started: a scene at the registration desk, then straight into the treatment room for the examination. I took over the camera while the "doctor" examined my cousin and took ultrasound images.
Then it's on to the X-ray area, where a medical assistant sets up the X-ray machine. The "doctor" then comes in with the final diagnosis and the message that the protagonist will get a cast.
This is where the shots in the doctor's surgery ended, we drove the friend/"doctor" home again and finally shot the beginning of the series in my cousin's hallway: the accident in which my cousin trips on the stairs and injures her leg...

Ich habe das hier gestern im Casters Club Forum gepostet und möchte es auch hier mit euch teilen.
Ein kleiner Blick hinter die Kulissen:
Im Januar hatte ich einen der coolsten Videodrehs aller Zeiten. Protagonistin war meine tolle Cousine, die schon immer mal in einem Gipsvideo mitspielen wollte. Leider wohnen wir nicht nah beieinander und so hat es echt lange gedauert, bis es endlich klappte.
Sie ist übrigens nicht das erste Familienmitglied, das bei einem Gipsvideo bzw. einer Serie mitgewirkt hat. Sogar meine Eltern haben mir schon geholfen :) Und natürlich viele Freunde und Bekannte, wofür ich wirklich sehr dankbar bin.

Für unseren Dreh im Januar hatten Freunde meiner Cousine es möglich gemacht, dass wir eine echte Arztpraxis als Kulisse nutzen durften. Sogar inklusive Ultraschall- und Röntgenuntersuchung!
Aus zeitlichen Gründen haben wir zuallererst die Szenen mit Gips bzw. auch das Anlegen des weißen SLC gedreht. Dafür haben wir das Arbeitszimmer meiner Cousine in einen Behandlungsraum inklusive Behandlungsliege verwandelt und ich habe ihr als „Arzthelferin“ den Gips angelegt. Anschließend fuhren wir in die (wunderschöne) Wohnung einer Freundin, in der wir einen längeren Dialog zwischen mir und meiner Cousine drehten. (In der Serie spielen wir zwei Freundinnen, deren gemeinsamer Urlaub durch den Gips bzw. Unfall verhindert wird.) Außerdem nahmen wir dort einige „Gipsimpressionen“ auf und machten Fotos. Einen Kameramann oder -frau hatten wir in diesem Fall nicht und haben uns bei Szenen, in denen wir beide zu sehen sind, mit einer kleinen Leiter beholfen, auf die wir das Stativ mit der Kamera stellten.
Gemäß unserem recht straffen Zeitplan musste der Gips dann leider schon ab, ich hatte natürlich eine Säge im Gepäck.
Anschließend holten wir einen Freund meiner Cousine ab, der den Arzt spielen sollte, und fuhren gemeinsam in die Praxis. Dort besprachen wir uns kurz und gingen zusammen das Skript durch. Dann ging es auch schon los: eine Szene an der Anmeldung, dann direkt ins Behandlungszimmer zur Untersuchung. Hier übernehme ich die Kamera, während der „Arzt“ meine Cousine untersucht und auch Ultraschallaufnahmen macht.
Danach geht’s weiter in den Röntgenbereich, wo eine Praxismitarbeiterin das Röntgengerät einstellt. Im Anschluss kommt der „Arzt“ mit der finalen Diagnose und der Botschaft, dass die Protagonistin einen Gips bekommt.
Hier endeten die Aufnahmen in der Praxis, wir fuhren den Freund/„Arzt“ wieder nach Hause und drehten abschließend im Hausflur meiner Cousine noch den Anfang der Serie: Den Unfall, in dem meine Cousine auf der Treppe stolpert und sich das Bein verletzt…
