Wall paper: Murder on the Orion Express

Is it true lady Brookington is nothing but a pretender of questionable lineage with scandalous appetites? Or is she a free spirit, misunderstood by a society where reputation means everything and impressions outweigh the truth?

And what about her maid, Mrs. Gasket? Her loyalist routines are code-signed with the right certificates as is well and proper for a automaton in her position, but rumors have it she's hiding a dark past, and still mourns the husband she lost in the 2nd machine uprising. How could a containment jar go missing from the crate under her care in the time between checking in and its arrival in the baggage car?

And then there's the mysterious moon fruit dr. Denise found growing all over Concord terminal, containing several compounds that her trusty analyzer could not identify. What effect does it have on the human mind when ingested? And how did inspector Macy's pocket knife end up in the lady's state room, covered in fruit juice and bodily fluids?

Did a murder even take place, or is the victim just suffering from severe post-coital vapors? Find out everything for two shillings and thruppence at your local bookstore.

This month's wallpaper is a bit of a hot mess, I'll admit, but I had a great time putting it together, imagining steampunk-era moon colonies where passengers would make the trans-Tranquillitatis crossing on a monorail the size of a ocean liner, with all the amenities that came with those.

A bit of light kit bashing going on with creating a moon landscape from a Sahara dessert environment and turning a tram into a mare liner, and accessorizing to fit the setting was also good fun. It was done in several parts, with the background created separately because of memory constraints, and that render used as a backdrop in the final image, which was also rendered in bits and assembled after for the same reason.

It's in fact one of two completely different Moon Detectives wallpapers that came to mind when regular Beege first floated the notion of moon detectives of Discord. This one's harking back to the likes of Christie and Doyle, and has some elements of the beginning of a classic whodunnit. The other one would have been a much more action oriented one in a completely different time setting. I might come back to that some other day.

As usual, 4k and textless versions attached below.

Dude I loved the book and movie the art is based on. Also love your game!

That'd be something. Tbh, having something like a big vehicle as the setting of a game would solve some production problems, as you can travel around but don't need to constantly create new sets for wherever the cast ends up being at that point in time.
