Home Internet is very different from Server Internet. For the 3€ mentioned above you get 1Gbit up and 1Gbit down. Servers have to handle dozens of users, which rarely happens on residential connections. You can't change your server's ISP without changing the datacenter it is in.

2022-03-26 11:26:57 +0000 UTCDunno about Brazil but US ISP's have unlimited bandwidth that costs nothing extra (at least most wired ones). For me same $65/mo for 30Mbit down/2Mbit up whether I use 1GB or 10TB (speed limited, dl'ing 24/7 most of the time). Kinda a ripoff compared to fiber but apprently it's still not common even in 2022 in US with all the regional ISP monopolies.

2022-03-26 09:08:53 +0000 UTCIt's actually pretty easy. Consumer Broadband is not comparable to what even the cheapest server gets. I mean less than 3€ per month cheap for 20 TB of traffic. Which would be about 2000 downloads of a 10 GB game (maybe it will grow that big in the future)

2022-03-26 09:07:07 +0000 UTCIs broadband of that magnitude that common in Brazil? Hell I can't even get Fios fiber internet with 1Gb down and 500 Mbit up unless I move and I'm in the middle of a major US city (some rich 'hoods have it, rest don't).

2022-03-25 15:05:28 +0000 UTCI usually grab 1TB of bandwidth from Mega as needed ($6 lasts about 5-6 weeks) since just about everyone else uses that one and really don't feel like paying for multiple hosts. Torrent would also work if everyone would keep seeding the zip files beyond the first week of release.
