Mr Plankton - Episode 2

ok we all know haejo is FUCKED UPP but something i love about this drama is the fun intros/creative title cards. and the soundtrack????? HELLO

Lele

I subscribed to your Patreon again to watch you reactions to this. It's an interesting kdrama imo but it definitely romanticizes a toxic relationship where he basically is emotionally abusing her, and as viewers, we also should be able to recognize this no matter what excuses we can give someone like him with so much trauma. It also doesn't help that people on social media are also adding to the romantasizing of the relationship dynamic, or excusing it, cuz of his handsomeness even if it's all fiction... but like it feeds into that narrative, that old kdramas loved to do and I hoped we moved on from, which is the man so in love with the girl but can't treat her right but who cares, he's good looking lol

Nah for sure!

Noooo lol, some people do say some wild stuff but luckily I hadn't experienced too much of it. You can see that it is a tricky situation on both sides. It doesn't help that his origin is not helpful and it seems like he never had any help with any of what he's doing so we'll see as we continue!

at the end of the day, poor heung lol. this all makes sense too i guess i'm just like damn, if you loved them would you still come f up what she has going on, knowing at the core she just wanted a family? at the same time, it is just desperation so i guess i feel it! i don't get why he broke up with her either talking about how she's not fun anymore, but then comes back to her later saying she is.

Damn I guess I'm used to toxic relationships where people say the most hurtful thing they can in the moment to mask their own bullshit bc y'all are NOT going for Haejo 😭. Yeah seeing his personal baggage and learning why he acts the way he does over the course of the show does not excuse what he's doing but it provides an interesting look on trauma and how it shapes you and effects the rest of your life. I'm looking forward to seeing if some of y'all start going a little soft on Haejo, or at least understanding wtf is wrong with him, as we get farther into the dad search, like I did. Everyone needs therapy in this show lol

The husband was in Death's game as well (he played the cop), but now i can elaborate a bit on my comment on ep 1. but i was never a fan of Haejo. like i said before, he's just the prime example of misery loves company. just a massive toxic gaslighting scumbag.   a grown man kidnaps his ex, forcing himself back in her life just to drag her into bs for no reason, constantly verbally tearing her down just cuz what… he’s going through life as if everyone else isn’t? And look just like u brought up, i always hated the “unintentional” message i feel kdramas constantly have when it comes to males. it gives it’s okay to allow a man to treat u anyway just cause u might find them attractive or in most cases they have money…like absolutely tf not. not over here Korea 😂 & also felt like they wanted us to excuse his actions cause of his personal health issue and yeah that aint work on me either, like u said and i agree, it was clear she was the closest person to him he's probably ever had and he just wanted to be around someone he felt he was genuinly close too in his las moments but yeahh he handled everything terribly.

Sham Sham

i mean, but since they were together before/feelings were already developed at a certain time, would it still be Stockholm? That's the question and if so interesting.

Sham Sham

Yeah it's called Stockholm syndrome.... And yeah he's haunted and has a lot of issues to work out and her too so we just along for the journey to see it. I remember when I was first watching it I'm like it's funny but it's not haha like what he's doing is not okay at all but yeah that's why it's a drama lol

I’m having fun with this drama so far. I get both haejo and jaemi. if i found out i had less than three months to live because of a hereditary illness that was passed on to me by my father who i never met after i was abandoned by the father that raised me for eight years, hell i’d go around messing stuff up too😂. it also seems like he really loved jaemi which is why he went back to get her after realizing he doesn’t have much time left. doesn’t excuse his assholery but someone who’s dying and angry wouldn’t be reasoning like a regular person. i still don’t get why he broke up with her like that though. jaemi on the other hand just wants a nice family, and he just came to uproot her from her one chance at having that. but at the same time she could still have some feelings for him plus resentment if they had a good relationship and he was the one who said all those things and broke up with her. it’s possible she doesn’t love heung but she just wants that stability that being with him would offer. lol poor heung…..
